I'm stuck at first level in throne room. I know what to do when I'm in "Y" mode, but there's a task with me needing to pull a chain on top of tall ledge. I can't figure out how to do it.

That's exactly it, but it won't let me grab the urns to put on scales.
I'm a serious newbie, am i using wrong controls? I tried all of them.
Usually the middelfinger trigger is for grabbing things.....or the index finger trigger.....I can't remember.😂
You can look in game settings or in one of the books that you have in the menu. There should explained which button you have to use to grab something.
I'll try again but know I used all triggers, no joy.
Game is 'locked up'. It says to Press (menu) to inspect inventory (or belt inventory), and it won't get out of that 'mode'. When this message is up, the left control stick doesn't work, you can't move anywhere. I've tried exiting and re-entering, but no change. How do I fix this?

It's more than 2 years ago since I played the game........ but if I remember correctly, you've to press the left control stick to open the belt inventory not the menu button.
No, the message specifically says Press the (horizontal lines) button to inspect the belt inventory. To be clear, I do indeed press the button as instructed, but when I back out (B button) I expect the message to be gone and be back to normal. But the message is still there, and the (left) control stick doesn't move me anywhere. When it first happened, and I couldn't get out so I exited and reentered the game, and now it just says to 'inspect the inventory', not 'belt', but it's still stuck.
