I don’t understand why you want to remove Meta Horizon Worlds from VR and what the benefit is. Removing it takes away a core part of the VR experience, even though you could make Meta Horizon Worlds available in the mobile app while still supporting VR, just like Roblox and Recroom, which offer both options, VR and mobile gameplay. Removing from the VR limits accessibility and reduces the immersive experience that makes the platform unique. This desicion needs to be reconsidered.
Yep. More importantly, they lose whatever exclusive content they have to compete in headset sales with the upcoming Steam headset. Its not about selling software. Its about install base. They need to treat it as a loss leader. A service that exists to bring more people into the ecosystem and using their product. I think its insane that they think of these things terms of direct income from the service that clearly exists to bolster their other sales instead of making its own. Obviously, its a loss leader. Treat it as such. Do any of these people have any business school experience at all?

Absolutely! They’re giving up a big part of what makes them unique just to develop a new feature, when they could offer both together. As they say (kill two birds with one stone) keeping their full audience! VR gamers and Mobile gamers!

Theyre just really afraid now because Steam is coming out with their new VR headset and Meta is freaking out. When companies panic they burn the whole house down instead of thinking long term.
