Whats your problem?
Hey creator forum reader! I’m doing some research and could use your help. I make educational horizon creator content on YT, but before working on something new, I want to hear where people actually struggle, so I know I’m helping solve the right problems. I’m looking to have 10 conversations with creators, specifically anyone who has dabbled as a world creator, but for whatever reason still hasn’t published their world. OR Anyone who HAS published, but is still yet to reach their 1st 1,000 visits. Who am I: My name is Mitch. I’ve been working in the VR industry for nearly a decade, from Oculus sales floor rep to working with the dev team on Meta Workrooms (RIP). I love VR and have made a living in this industry trail-blazed by Meta. Even up to where we are now taking on mobile gaming! Even though Meta Horizon Editor is still so early, I’ve already got a full years experience from fresh start to 1st world publish to 200,000+ impressions on my 1st world in 7 days. Hi, I hope you're doing well today. I'm a digital artist and animator who's been taking the liberty to learn computer sciences on my own. HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Python, etc. I'm slowly building up my knowledge base and skills with programming to blend my creative talents and problem solving with more tools; to become a creative synergist. I desire the skills and know-how to create whatever I'm inspired to at the time be it be apps, websites, VR/AR experiences, animations, AI and more. I am posting here because I'm enthusiastic to get in touch with developers to learn from. It's one thing to take online courses (which I am), but I want to supplement my education by getting to know those with hand-on experience. If any of you reading this wish to get in touch, please do. I'm interested in getting together with a game designer to add minigames to my astronomy world, Star Central: Star Central | Meta Community Forums - 1350398 I'm a TypeScript coder and Blender modeler so I can help develop games and am familiar with the Horizon Worlds API, but my main area is more in astronomical visualization (I'm a member of the Data Processing and Analysis Consortium (DPAC) of the European Space Agency' galaxy surveying Gaia Mission). If you've ever wanted to help with astronomy outreach and to expose people to the latest scientific research on the Milky Way, this might be a good opportunity for you!
Collaborators Wanted: Building the BOP Shop in Horizon Worlds
Recently I shared my Creator Story, Maybe This Time I’ll Finish. That was about finally finding momentum after years of starting projects and never closing them out. Now I’m finishing things. I’ve been creating clothing for Horizon Worlds, releasing pieces, and seeing people actually wear what I built. The next step is the Black Obsidian Protocol (BOP) Shop, a fashion-driven world that’s growing into something much bigger. It’s part store, part brand, part creative hub. Every element carries a story and a purpose. I’m still a one-person operation, designing, scripting, building, and learning as I go. I don’t have funding or payment to offer yet, but I’m not looking for free work. I’m looking for collaboration—people who want to build something lasting, grow their skills, and have their fingerprints on a world that represents real progress and creative pride. That said, if all you can offer are ideas, suggestions, or guidance, that’s more than enough. Time, experience, and wisdom are just as valuable as work. I’d also like to make friends along the way and learn from others who are either just starting out or already deep into their journey. Here’s what I’m hoping to find: World Builders who want to help refine structure, layout, or lighting. Scripters who enjoy problem-solving and can help polish interaction systems.
