Optimize Your Air Link Experience: The Best Setup for Minimal Lag
Hello fellow VR enthusiasts, I wanted to share some insights on how to get the most out of your Oculus Air Link experience. As you know, Air Link allows us to enjoy PCVR games wirelessly on our Quest headsets, which is nothing short of amazing. However, to ensure that you're getting the best performance with minimal lag, your network setup is crucial. Here's what I recommend for the optimal Air Link setup: 1. **Wired PC Connection**: Your PC should be connected to your network via an Ethernet cable. This wired connection is more stable and offers higher speeds than Wi-Fi, which is essential for streaming high-quality VR content. 2. **Dedicated Router**: If possible, use a dedicated Wi-Fi 5 or Wi-Fi 6 router for your VR setup. These routers are designed to handle high-bandwidth activities like VR streaming. Wi-Fi 6, in particular, offers higher speeds, improved efficiency, and better performance in crowded networks. 3. **Tri-Band Router with a Dedicated Channel**: For those who can't have a dedicated router, a tri-band router is a great alternative. Make sure to set up a dedicated Wi-Fi channel for your headset. This means your headset will have its own exclusive lane for data traffic, preventing other devices from causing interference and potential lag. By following these steps, you should see a significant improvement in your Air Link experience. The dedicated channels and stable connection minimize latency and provide the bandwidth needed for a smooth and immersive VR experience. Remember, every setup is unique, so you might need to tweak some settings to suit your environment. But with a LAN-connected PC and a dedicated router or Wi-Fi channel, you're setting yourself up for success. Feel free to share your own experiences and tips below. Let's help each other get the best wireless VR experience possible! Happy gaming!Eliminater742 months agoMember5.7KViews2likes1CommentSkip PC VR setup everyday through headset!
We wanted to use Quest (have v2 currently) headsets for showroom VR, but they have proved too complex for none-IT users to deal with, even if you are accustomed to PC tech the way you have to put on the headset and choose the PC link every time is a drag and at times the it's glitchy. Is there any way to mod the headsets to always start up in PC link mode so no in-headset menu navigation is required?SolvedAndyz252 months agoHonored Guest90Views0likes6CommentsMy pc don't cover the min spec ??? with RTX 4050
Hi everyone, so I just got my meta quest 3, I want them to play on them but also on pcvr, the problem comes when I install the meta que link on my PC, and suddenly appears that my pc doesn't fulfill the minimum components to do PCVR, but here comes the weird thing my pc has a Ryzen 5 series 7000, an RTX 4050, 16 gb DDR5, and a 1TB storage, I have try everything, force oculus client to use my dedicated graphics card, not the integrated graphics, change some specifications on how does the graphics card interact with programs and games, y have change some settings so I could play No Mans Sky VR, by steam, but nothing works, the message keps appearing, my game goes like trash even tho I put the settings on low (standar), the debug tool its set on 200 to 300 mb of data transfer, I been trying leveling that up, but if I do that the game won't even start, games like the forest and half-life Alyx crash suddenly with barely 10 min gameplay.. I just want to enjoy my oculus, but this is very frustating I being trying days, I have re-install, card controllers, windows updates, meta quest link app. If u have a recomendation on something, I would be very greatfull.SolvedELIZAN6263 months agoHonored Guest111Views0likes2CommentsThe Meta Quest Link installation is failing.
I'm unable to install the Meta Quest Link app on my PC. After accepting the terms of use, I should be able to select a drive for installation, but I'm only getting an error message saying I don't have enough space. My system has nearly 2 TB of free space, but I can't select either of my drives. Could someone help me with this?berdan.583 months agoHonored Guest1.2KViews0likes5CommentsOculus Rift S Black Screen on Initial Setup
My Oculus arrived yesterday and while I was going through the set up process I cannot get past the "Continue Set up in VR" Screen shows nothing in the headset just darkness but the sound works fine. When I skipped the process and tried to play a game anyway I was able to see some of the games on my computer screen but still nothing in my headset Headset displays White light in within the headset and blue light on the exterior The devices all say Connected and Active I already done the following task: - Repair Oculus setup - Update Nvidia Driver - Disable USB power management standby in USB 3 root in device manager - Update Oculus driver - Remove headmask and reconnect the cable after 5 seconds. - Change usb 3.0 port and DP port. -I Tried to update the windows driver to 1903 (Not Compatible) - I made sure the cables are in the proper placements and tried different 3.0 USB ports and unplugged them all before plugging the Rift back in I still always have black screen in my headset and i can' t do the setup. Hi all, Is anyone else unable to upload asset files for add-ons (DLC/IAP) on PCVR (Link) apps? Every upload attempt ends in: "Permissions error", "type": "OCApiException", "code": 200 "An unknown error has occurred.", "type": "OAuthException", "code": 1 What I’ve tried: My apps and each DLC file is way less than 1GB Generated new app secret Removed and re-created the app in the developer hub Rebooted, tried different CLI versions Confirmed everything is set up correctly in dashboard Add-on is configured as normal, SKU matches, etc. No issues uploading add-ons for Quest/Android apps — only PCVR/Link I’ve seen a few others mention similar errors (over the years), but no solution yet. Is this a known Meta bug? Is there a workaround or is everyone just stuck waiting for a fix on Meta’s side? Any input would be appreciated. Thanks!Evrience3 months agoExplorer216Views1like2CommentsAnyone know a good place to buy sound effects for a project?
Hello I am curious as to where I can find a good site for purchasing sound effects for a Horror / Mystery game? This my first time going at a project completely solo. I do have simple audio gear but I would be interested in purchasing sound effects rather than trying to produce all of them myself. Thank you in advance.MarkDeane4 months agoExplorer5.8KViews0likes14Commentsanyone know how to navigate menus or apps in PCVR link without controllers?

I have noticed for quite a while that PCVR lacks the ability to do hand tracking/finger tracking even though some 3rd party software allows for it (Virtual Desktop/Steam Link). The oculus Rift S is way in the past now, at least in comparison to the quest 2 and 3. I would love to see some real updates happen to the software used; the interface has been the same since the Rift S was launched and I haven't really seen meta mess with it much let alone update it's look/features. Some people have been talking about getting hand tracking with a developer account, but that's so out of the way for a consumer who has already paid for hand tracking and just wishes to use it on a better platform that's easily accessible to them (pcvr). I frequent VRChat which allows for hand tracking; and while I use steam link it can vary with performance and video quality. I know I can't do much in the way of making change here but I hope some developer will see this and try making something out of it. I would love to see at least something made of the original oculus menu, even if it's something like attaching a screen to a remote like Steam can, or just going through with the watch idea after so many years.TechnoTheWolf4 months agoExplorer550Views3likes1Comment
