Can I set up CsGo with an Xbox controller?
you cant play csgo with a controller. but i got an injury and had to either not play or learn to use a controller, so i learned how to setup the controller for the ps4 controller and the xbox 360 controller. i attached my cfg files you use with the joytokey program for the csgo game using either the ps4 controller or xbox 360 controller. first you need a basic mouse sensitivity, in csgo its 2.5. this is the joytokey cursor movement at 100. second you need to calibrate the joytokey cursor movement. this part is tricky because you have recoil in the game when you shoot, and if you set the vertical cursor movement to equal the horizontal cursor movement then you get bad recoil, when you shoot then move your mouse on the moving target your mouse adds recoil to the gun. so you want the horizontal value large at 100, to equal the mouse sensitivity in the game, and you tweak the vertical value to only be enough you can shoot and win and see, not perfectly itll look too slow for comfort but it is usable. second you want to calibrate the analog acceleration. again if you keep the horizontal value equal to the vertical value you get the bad recoil again and cant shoot a moving target for a win. so you want the horizontal movement larger than the vertical value. third you want to calibrate the "adjust mouse cursor speed while the button is pressed". you want the vertical values to equal the horizontal values., why this is is it makes the initial movement of the mouse faster or slower, and you dont want a mouse to move fast horizontally then slow vertically when you move your mouse in a circle on the computer so these values are all the same. finally how this relates to the rift is if you use the csgo the wasd is the joystick, and the wasd is the left stick, on the controller the mouse is the right stick and that is the cursor. but on the rift the cursor the right stick the mouse its the head movement, not the right stick. so you want the initial mouse speed to be as fast as the person moves their head left and right, thats how fast the cursor moves when the rift head tracking moves the mouse cursor. then you want to set the cursor speed for the horizontal and vertical differently. i know your saying the head movement is like the horizontal and vertical both using the same movement speed so the horizontal and vertical must be equal values. but if you tuck your chin on your chest at an angle to the left or right, then look up, the head moves to the center not to directly when your face is pointing when your chin is tucked into the chest. so the tucked chin follows the movement like if the setting i described above is used then the cursor uses restricted movement and drags the mouse in a curve when its moved. then you set the analog acceleration, because the mouse sensitivity is used at 100 percent for the horizontal and the vertical is customized to fit this horizontal parameter. so you shouldnt need to set the "adjust mouse cursor speed while the button is pressed" if the mouse sensitivity is set up right first. but if you copy this into another controller and keep the mouse sensitivity even though it doesnt fit the new controller then you need to adjust the "adjust mouse cursor speed while the button is pressed" and analog acceleration. this is for a war game like csgo or call of duty, when the vertical movement is limited, it emulates the human anatomy. for other games you can keep the head movement by using these settings but their vertical speed is affected by their vehicle. i think because the head uses this restricted movement and in games this isnt emulated it might cause nausea because the chin is moved unnaturally up when the head moves up because the vertical speed equals the horizontal speed.Anonymous4 seconds agoNot applicable0likes8Comments- BugBounty_Kenzo3 hours agoHonored Guest0likes0Comments
Meta took my money and I have no Quest 3
Has anyone else had to deal with this... I bought a Meta Quest 3, and when it arrived at my home, it turned out to be defective and would not charge. I wrote Meta support and tried all their suggestions. Nothing helped. Finally, they sent me a RMA return label and instructions to reset it back to factory and send the whole kit back for replacement. I followed their directions, and got the packages shipped back to them. However, when they received it, I get no replacement. When I asked about it, they then said that I should not have included the controllers (though their directions said to remove their batteries before sending). They told me I would have to wait for those to be sent back to me, and they provided another RMA label for those. The controllers came back, and I sent them back as instructed. The tracking shows that they arrived, and were signed for on April 27, 2026. However, their website still says "Awaiting arrival". I keep writing support and trying to get some help. I sent them the proof that the controllers arrived and were signed for by "KMARABLE". However, they keep telling me things like "the warehouse is looking for the package.", "We've already coordinated with our warehouse... we'll continue monitoring", "we'll provide you with an update as soon as the item is located"... I keep getting the run around. Meanwhile I have nothing to show for my $500 but frustration. There's no phone number I can call to speak to someone in person. It's been 3 weeks since they got the parts back. I don't know what recourse I have other than losing my money. Any suggestions would be much appreciated. Thanks, community.Dekkoh7 hours agoExplorer1like6CommentsThe new quest ui is terrible
so the new ui just came out for meta quest and its the most annoying overly complicated ui i have ever had the displeasure of dealing with anyone know any way to reverse it or suggest they change it back or at least give us the option to choose berween the old and new one its extremly annoying i know along of people feel the same way i have to slide thru like 9 tabs to locate an app i used to be able to see on one easy to slide screen and trying to open the call im on is like a 25 step process vs just clicking on one button on my quick menu please reverse this or give us the option to choose between the 2 or customize itThatdude423 days agoHonored Guest8likes14CommentsController forced updates
Ok pardon the language but this is asinine. i have the Quest 2, paired with a pair of Touch Pro controllers. The idea that, in 2025, that the controllers can be upgraded by software is great. But an update that happens on its own schedule, and ESPECIALLY without a visible progress bar to TELL you it’s happening is ridiculous. I use my VR to workout, and I have a finite amount if time to squeeze said workout in. To get my gear ready, turn on the VR, and have the controllers not appear is frustrating. Then to not have ANY way of knowing what’s happening, and, even if i have a suspicion that it’s an update and not have a progress bar (that is the default displayed in everything from routers, to game consoles, pc firmware updates and even 3d printers) in 2025, is downright embarrassing. Sure, updates need to happen, absolutely. A better and more congenial design would be to: Let users know an update is available Allow the user to initiate the download himself or herself Display a progress bar for each controller as it happens Let the user run the update at the end of their session (‘Cuz if the update is so critical and time sensitive, there’d likely be something wrong already and the user is WAITING for an update to come) Please DO STOP AMBUSHING THE USER KBoogerWrangler3 days agoHonored Guest1like4CommentsAbout Terms of Use
Recently, my client company provided me with a computer for home use. I wanted to use my personal MetaQuest 3 for remote desktop work, so I contacted the company to request permission to install Mixed Reality Link on the computer. However, they refused, citing a potential violation of their commercial use policy. Is using remote desktop for work truly a violation of their commercial use policy? If so, could you please tell me where that policy is stated? Sorry if it's difficult to read due to translation. Thank you.aerosumiso5 days agoHonored Guest0likes1CommentQuest3 v2.4.1034 should allow users to disable background ambient sounds
Hi everyone, After updating to Quest3 v2.4.1034, I noticed that the system background ambient sound is still present in the home environment. Personally, I find this sound unnecessary and sometimes distracting, especially when I am watching videos, using the browser, connecting to PCVR, or simply staying in the home menu. I think Meta should either remove this background sound effect, or at least provide a simple option to turn it off. A good solution would be: Settings > Audio > Background / Ambient Sound > On / Off This would allow users who enjoy the atmosphere to keep it enabled, while users who prefer a quiet environment could disable it completely. For VR devices, comfort and immersion are very personal. Some users like ambient effects, but others may find them annoying, tiring, or distracting. Giving users control over this setting would make the Quest experience better for everyone. Please consider adding an option to disable system background ambient sounds in a future Quest update. Thank you.David_Joe_97995 days agoExplorer0likes0Comments
