Hey everyone! I’ve been a long-time VR enthusiast, but I’ve recently taken a bit of a weird detour in my tech journey. I’ve always been curious about using enterprise-grade hardware for home entertainment, so I recently picked up a refurbished ProLiant DL360. It’s rocking a 14-core 2GHz Xeon, and on paper, the multi-threaded performance for things like video encoding and server hosting is incredible for the price. However, I’ve run into a bit of a roadblock while trying to set this up as a dedicated "headless" PCVR station for my Quest via Air Link. The specific point I’m struggling with right now is the physical constraint of the 1U chassis. While the 14-core Xeon is a beast, trying to fit a modern, VR-capable GPU into those tiny PCIe riser slots is like playing a very expensive game of Tetris. I’m finding that most cards either exceed the height limit or require more power than the internal proprietary cables can easily provide. In my personal experience, I’ve always built standard mid-tower PCs where you just "plug and play," but this server environment is a totally different beast. The noise level alone is something I didn't fully respect until I heard those small 40mm fans ramp up to 100% duty cycle! I love the industrial reliability and the sheer core count for the money, but I’m starting to wonder if the 2GHz clock speed might be a bottleneck for some of the more physics-heavy VR titles. Has anyone else here tried to move away from traditional towers to rack-mount servers for their high-end VR needs, or am I just setting myself up for a very loud, very complicated disappointment?jackhicks1211 month agoHonored Guest0likes0CommentsUnlocking the Metaverse for Millions: The Urgent Need for Turkish Language Support
To the Meta Development Team and the Global VR Community, Virtual reality is built on a single, powerful promise: true immersion without boundaries. Yet, for millions of Turkish-speaking users worldwide, a significant barrier remains: the absolute lack of native Turkish language support in Horizon OS and the Meta Store. Turkey currently boasts one of the most vibrant, passionate, and rapidly expanding gaming communities in Europe and the Middle East. The Meta Quest ecosystem is already highly sought-after here. However, the absence of Turkish localization is holding back its true mainstream potential. We are not just asking for a simple menu translation; we are asking for accessibility, inclusion, and the ability to safely and fully experience the Metaverse. Imagine trying to navigate complex system settings, read crucial safety boundary warnings, or comfortably browse the Meta Store in a foreign language. It instantly breaks the seamless immersion that Meta works so hard to build. By introducing Turkish language support, Meta wouldn't just be adding another language option to a dropdown menu. You would be significantly lowering the entry barrier for a massive, untapped demographic that is eager to invest time and money into the Quest ecosystem. It means better onboarding, higher user retention, and a surge in community growth. The Turkish VR community is already here. We are active, we are growing, and we want to feel at "home" in Horizon OS. It is time to bridge this gap. We strongly urge the Meta leadership and development teams to prioritize Turkish localization in your upcoming roadmap. To my fellow VR enthusiasts: If you believe the Metaverse should truly be for everyone, please hit the Kudo button and drop a comment below to amplify this request. Let’s show Meta the undeniable power of this community!Taha91 month agoHonored Guest0likes0CommentsHello guys WhatsApp!!
