Artificial Traffic (Bots) Policy Reminder

Artificial Traffic (Bots) Policy Reminder

This is a friendly reminder concerning our bot policy within Meta Horizon. We’ve seen examples of creators using bots to enhance their world experiences. We want to remind everyone of the Meta Horizon Creator Program Terms and Partner Monetization Policies that you agreed to when joining the program.

If incorporating bots into your experiences, please make sure that these accounts are added to your worlds as editors.

Failure to adhere to Meta’s policies may impact your status in the Meta Horizon Creator Program and your ability to monetize.

  • So just so I am clear, a bot is a Meta avatar that you log into with a separate account, then that account can log in using the desktop version of Horizon Worlds and then can play music. If I have this wrong please stop me.

What Meta is concerned about is these extra accounts being considered USE MINUTES when tabulating the amount a Creator is paid, so if they are Editors on those worlds then the usage is not added in.

I know there are now other kind of Bots called NPCs but these are separate, right?

This is a great question… I’d like clarification on this as well.

  • Yeah... my 2 cents... I had mine for a bit as Tester... but heard about it needing editor status.
    Fixed.

Funny a world with Bots playing music only is sometimes very hard to JOIN on.
VISIT WORLD shows bots count wise but then joins an open instance.
