BIG problems with horizon worlds

Hi, I have massive issues with Horizon worlds, as do a lot of other creators. More and more, people are just getting thrown out of worlds ("coining out") for zero reason and it's incredibly frustrating. Is there a way that meta can beef things up a bit to prevent this? It doesn't happen on PC or Mobile, just on headsets, and it's a world killer.

Also, my world has been sitting at 115 hours interaction for about a week now, despite having had hundreds of people in since that total appeared (I should be an order of magnitude above this now, as this was only really for the first day of opening my nightclub).

Finally, sound gizmos. Please try and tighten the code up so that putting in several of these doesn't cause a lot of people to crash out. The system is very unoptimized and a lot of us like to use a lot of sound.

Please, if anyone knows anything about any of these issues, or can suggest fixes, let me know. Deleting the cache seems to work for some users, but not all. This is killing a lot of the more content heavy worlds (also, my world was checked over by a very well known world creator who said it's extremely well optimised and is running perfectly, so SHOULD NOT BE KICKING PEOPLE ALL THE TIME). The whole thing is super disappointing for those of us who'd like to support the platform.

Thanks in advance for any help/suggestions.

Hi ChefMaster, it sounds like you need some help with optimizing your world to run within performance limits.

I would recommend checking out the on-demand video from one of our recent live mentor sessions on optimization. There is also another session next Thursday at 5PM PT on how to use the Perfetto trace tool to find specific performance issues in your world. You can also use your real-time metrics panel to determine problematic areas of your world, or the World Capacity menu in desktop editor.

For audio imports, it is recommend to use ogg opus format for all imports to reduce size and improve performance. With audio in your world, players must download all files upon world entry, so be sure you only have the files you need within the world.

There is zero wrong with my world. It's been checked by an expert builder and runs well within the limits. There are no problems in the metrics. I would not be here posting if this were not the case, so it's something else at Meta's side. I've actually been told that audio is "a mess" at meta, and this appears to be the case. I'm using audio as ogg opus in mono, of course. My job is working in audio, I know exactly what I'm doing. This, again, as stated, is a problem on the Meta side so I'm raising it as an issue.

I'm also still sitting at 115 hours interaction despite the club being very busy on numerous occasions this week after the initial 115 hour total appeared last saturday. Can you PLEASE explain what is going on here, as this feels like, once again, something is not working correctly and it's not fair to treat creators like this who actually bring interesting things to the platform. The metrics state that they're updated daily, yet they're clearly not. Last night I had a very busy night and, once again, this is not reflected in the hours spent in the world.

What's the point in people doing all of this if there is no help offered from Meta and the backend systems are broken? It's just a pointless stress and people are better off putting their efforts elsewhere if this (nothing) is all we can see for it, along with generic "advice" that is basically the equivalent of "have you tried turning it on and off at the wall?".

Very disappointing. I would just like to get some worthwhile information and to see meta address the issues that I have raised (which have actually been acknowledged by one of the platform heads as having "a lot of problems").

As you can see here, we're WELL within the guidelines. Nothing is in the red and, as stated, an expert builder who's made a lot of very popular meta experiences came in and said that the world is extremely well optimised and that the metrics show that everything is working great. There are zero frame drops and it's constantly running at 70+. There are NO PROBLEMS in the world. It runs fine on mobile and pc when streaming from meta, the problem here is how the headsets are handling it and that's an issue with the meta side, there's nothing I can do. So, once again, I ask for this to be raised and looked at. And, once again, one of the key audio designers has said "I agree; there are tons of issues with audio!". This needs looked at, asap, as it's causing creators to go elsewhere.
