Capacity Meter on Desktop Editor

I noticed recently there was a change to my capacity meter in that it is now showing lower figures than expected. My mesh/vertex count was 135% and now showing as 55%, simulation and animation was 75% and now is 28% - is this a glitch or have we somehow been given more capacity? I haven’t made any major changes to the world that would account for such a drop in ‘usage’ (Witch Woods Hollow) so a little confused! 😵‍💫 anyone experiencing the same?

  • I am not aware of any changes. The capacity meter has been known to glitch out in the past. I don't pay much attention to it these days. Just know what your physical limits are 200k verts for a performant world. 200+- draw calls. 60+ FPS.

  • About two months ago I was also suddenly given about twice as much capacity for my worlds. And they still seem to operate without glitches, crashes or memory issues. I just assumed that this was due to improvements in the Horizon Worlds server side software, possibly as part of the migration to Horizon Engine next year. But perhaps SeeingBlue is right and this is an error in the world capacity calculations?

  • In any case, my Star Central world is a lot more ambitious than it might have been because the increased capacity encouraged me to add more stuff to it.  So maybe the change is good even if it is a bug!
