FIle Backed Script

I been trying find File back update for scripting and it didn't appear when i start new world. What can I do? it didnt show any update world

  • I believe the bug stems from new worlds that were created using the VR editor. Try creating a new world in the DE and see if the issue persists.

  • You are trying to update your world to use FPS? Is this a codeblocks or TypeScript world?

  • If you use mostly codeblocks to script I would not update to FBS, as it's a mess. You can always clone an older world and delete everything. Not sure if you can select "legacy" scripting instead of FBS anymore when creating a new world

I just duplicated a 3 year old world and it is allowing me to update to FBS.

While using the desktop editor click on:

Scripts > cog wheel > Script editing > Review > Update

NOYE: To the left of the Review button, it will say File-Backed Scripts. Under that it should say Update available, Update pending, or Updated. If it says Updated than you are already using FBS. Keep in mind I have heard FBS is not great for codeblock worlds. In have never tried so that's just word of mouth.

  • I think there may be a bug right now were some people's worlds are being wrongly treated as if FBS is off when it shouldn't be. They are unable to pull assets into their world as a result.

I think that must be correct. one of my older trimesh worlds says it is already FBS. Newer worlds that should be aren't, and I've never been more confused. techs start with 'all you have to do' and I cant see what i'm told that I should be seeing in the desktop editor. It says I am running the latest version.
