Issue With Horizon World Becoming Permanently Members-Only
Hello,
I’m a new Horizon Worlds creator and I’m having an issue with one of my worlds unexpectedly becoming permanently “Members Only.”
The world was originally published normally and I was actively building and pricing commerce items inside it. I was also able to invite people to the world successfully.
For several days, the toggle that controls whether the world is publicly searchable appeared grayed out and unavailable. Today, I was adjusting visibility settings and briefly saw the toggle become available. I enabled public/searchable visibility, but when I attempted to publish again, the world suddenly switched itself to “Members Only.”
The interface now says the world is hidden and can never be published again.
I did not intentionally convert the world into a permanently hidden members-only world, and I’m trying to understand:
- whether this behavior was intentional,
- whether the world can be restored to a publishable/public state,
- and whether this may have been caused by a bug or incorrect setting transition.
I was able to clone the world, but unfortunately all commerce item pricing/linkage data was lost in the process, which represents a large amount of work.
I also want to mention that I previously received several automated item restrictions on clothing items, but almost all appeals were approved successfully. I do not know whether those events are related to the world visibility issue.
Could someone please clarify:
- Why the searchable/public toggle was unavailable for several days,
- Why the world switched to Members Only unexpectedly,
- Whether the original world can be restored to a normal publishable state,
- And whether commerce linkage/pricing data can be recovered or transferred.
Thank you for your help.
