Members-only worlds

There used to be an option to publish a members-only world but I don't see it anymore. Shame because that would be useful for several use cases. Is it truly gone or is there a trick to get the option to display when publishing a world?

  • The ZenDesk response is "I apologize for any confusion or inconvenience around accessing this functionality. Currently, the ability to create members-only worlds is limited to a select group of creators as part of our alpha test. We understand that many of you are eager to try out new features, and we appreciate your patience as we continue to improve Horizon Worlds and its tools."

Surprising as the available docs don't suggest that and my desktop editor describes the feature in the help. But there it is.

  • It is showing up for me.

Have you published this world already?

Yes, but then I unpublished it. In case that matters, I cloned the world and the option did not appear even though that world had never been published.

And in case that mattered, I just created a new empty 18+ world and when I tried to publish it, the Members only option did not appear even though I had set tags and rating. Is it possible that somehow the option is now restricted to certain groups of people?

I tried adding a description in case that was required but it made no difference. The option never appears. I'm pretty sure that I have seen it in the past.

  • Try creating a new world. Do not clone or duplicate it and see if it shows up.

I already did that. I described it above: "And in case that mattered, I just created a new empty 18+ world and when I tried to publish it, the Members only option did not appear even though I had set tags and rating. Is it possible that somehow the option is now restricted to certain groups of people?"
