Multiplayer Debugging

Hi all, reaching out to follow up on a question we haven't been able to get a solid answer for. What is the best way to access any kind of debug log for multiplayer testing, specifically for a mobile client. We've dug around in both the horizon worlds editor and the mobile app and there doesn't seem to be an obvious way to enable any kind of console log.

We've got a couple things we'd like to troubleshoot that are throwing issues when there are multiple people on the server and it's proving tedious to figure out without being able to see what logging specific players are getting to help narrow things down.

Thanks in advance!

  • Multiplayer debugging is the major tool problem for me right now. I want console logging on my desktop development machine for a multiplayer instance. The Debug Console gizmo in VR is just too limited.

  • I've been a web developer for many years and I'm used to debugging multiuser applications in a web browser. Agreed that won't solve all mobile specific issues but it would help.

  • As far as I know the debug gizmo is the only option we have. Hopefully, we will get something like logcat in the future. You can always make a feature request here https://developers.meta.com/horizon/feedback/
