Is it possible to remove the default grey floor?
I cannot find how to do it in the Desktop Editor 😞
Yes, this is done with the Environment Gizmo. You'll need to pull one out from your build menu.

SeeingBlue cool i had thought somehow that the plane/grid is maximum world size? but are there no world size limits?
hard limits are 10k on any axis from center, but you'll start to run into problem long before then. Stay within 5k of center, but less is better.
