Unable to view desktop editor

Hi Installed and ran version 201 and also tried 203 just now and I am unable to see anything other then the back ground when I start the editor. I have opened a support ticket but was curious to see if anyone else is having my issue. None of the active content (links) are visible although I can see the mouse cursor change when i hover over something clickable.

Main ScreenRandom Click

  • So support replied and asked for more information about my monitor and computer configuration. They suggested I lower my screen resolution down to 1920 x 1080. This helped as a work around but was I disappointed to find out they are closing the ticket and have no plans to actually resolve the issue.

Thank you for the suggestion. I rebooted but alas no improvement. I have supplied the player log to support via the ticket i have open.

      • Ok good to know that it’s just a bug happening to people and not something our end.

  • Yeah I’ve had the same problem and have had to raise a ticket. They’re looking into it for me but it seems to be something to do with the new early access desktop editor. Just waiting for them to get back to me with a solution.

  • Turn off any VPN or Anti-virus running in the background even if your VPN is off it could be running in the background processes. Check your task manager in right click start menu or ctrl-alt-delete and go to Task Manager and find your processes and if your antivirus or vpn is on just end task. Also you can right click the OVRserver and go to details and set the priority of that to “High”. orrrrrr check your firewall settings and make sure you’re pc isn’t blocking the app.
If that doesn’t work uninstall and reinstall meta quest link app along with the horizon desktop editor.

I usedd to have that issue but just keep all your things up to date and a fresh reset will fix it. If a simple pc restart doesn’t.

    • Unfortunately none of those things have worked. I was already working with a reset ox and the link work perfectly fine with it before it changed to desktop early access.

We've got both of your tickets and looking into the issue! We'll respond when we have a resolution for you both.

If you happen to see it self-resolve please let us know as well.

      Hey iByte

In the logs, the previously set resolution size was throwing an error. For now the workaround is to lower that resolution on all three monitors. The team did make it clear that a higher resolution is supported, but they believe all three monitors at that 2160 is what is causing the error.

They are working on a fix (vs. using the workaround) but wanted to unblock your workflow until they are able to reproduce the environment and push out a fix.

      Thank you for reporting this!

Thank you for the update. I truly appreciated the work around and look forward to a permanent fix. For now I have dropped down to 2560x 1440 @ 100% scaling on all three monitors and the editor screen is visible for me. 🙂

  • They got me to reinstalled the app and there was a driver update and am all up an running now.

  • As an update, we just wanted to let you know we have a fix planned for this. We may need your help to make sure everything works correctly once we push it iByte.
