View metrics transparent, can't get back to original mode

By clicking on the wrong buttons, I some how turned the view metrics transparent:

I have clicked seemingly everywhere possible on the area around the graphs, and cannot find a button or pulldown to turn it back.  I don't see anything visible either.    What am I missing?  How to I get the regular view back?   Thanks.
