My original goal in VR was to capture 360 and 3D nature footage and use the headset to view it. I really wanted that sense of being immersed in the environment. I had done some world building in AltSpace, and in 2020 I received the invite to Horizon Worlds. I noticed the creation process is much more organic, and collaborative... something I had been seeking. Working with creators from all around the world, we discovered these new tools together. Many of those creators I consider to be family now. They are my inspiration, and I work every day to support them in their efforts.
As a former programmer, I was drawn to scripting, and realized it's power to give life to the worlds we create. I now am using TypeScript to create animations, simulations.. the possibilities are endless. I am half artist, half scripter, with a love for education. There is no better way to learn, than to teach.
I have been working on supporting the tools, and helping others create, and I don't have many recent worlds. However, I am confident that soon I will have something worthy of publishing. I am proud of the worlds we made as Born Studios, and the MINIverse, Infinite Lake.
I am working to ensure the tools we use to create our worlds are of the best quality possible, and I will continue that effort. In the meantime, I am working toward a series of nature simulations that include photogrammetry and natural audio. My worlds will most likely trend towards meditative, calm hang outs with interesting photogrammetry.
The most important thing for me is to facilitate the overall effort, to support this vibrant community of creators. I am _very_ thankful to be here! ā¤ļøšŸ˜Ž

  • Hey my name is Matthew but I'm better known as "WolfMaNeMatt".

    - I was inspired by the many other innovative individuals i had the chance to sit down talk with and see out their ideas

    - Over the course of time being on the platform i have honed the skills of creating in primitive shape building (horizon worlds), 3d modeling (Blender), code block scripting and now im in the process of learning the ins and outs of typescript.

    - Nightly Theater: Conscious The Bear

    - My goals going forward are to collaborate with other like minded and innovative creators and develop memorable experiences for all on the horizon worlds platform and in due time the meta quest store

  • I knew I was a good artist since winning my first Patch the Pony contest in kindergarten. Two years later I was writing down stories and making them into little books. I took art classes through college though majoring in Writing and minoring in Music. Grad school saw my childhood King Arthur/Robin Hood obsessions culminate in Medieval/Renaissance Lit.

I just retired early from my "job", making me a full-time novelist.

But nearly 2 decades ago I was puttering around with desktop 3-D design programs, creating spaceships, full Roman cities, elaborate space stations, mythological sites.

It was fantastic to find Horizon Worlds in Jan. 2022 and start it all up again.

These are my strengths, so of course programming and mathematics will be my weak points. Codeblocks' logic was natural after learning to program in BASIC, but of course now comes the curveball of shifting to trimesh, where I have no experience at all. So here I am. Hey!

    Long post incoming

    Where do I even begin…

Hey, my name is Chris—more commonly known as 13_Chris. To be honest, I had never really thought about creating content in VR. I just needed a way to escape reality without actually leaving my house. I was in a pretty dark place and convinced myself that getting a headset might help. Turns out, it did exactly that.

When I first logged in, I played a game that doesn’t even exist anymore. (I’ve since built my own version of it in Horizon Worlds—called Blitz—just saying.) But at the time, it gave me a space to decompress, play, and detach enough from reality to feel like myself again. Then, I found Horizon Worlds. It was right around the time Beta had just wrapped.

Within my first week, I was setting up battle sessions in Arena Clash and playing more hours than I’d probably admit. I’ve met lifelong friends and fallen in love through this experience—more than I ever have in real life. After a while, I did what so many others have done: I hit the ā€˜Create a World’ button.

That first attempt? An absolute disaster. My test world was just a mess of duplicated objects, and the whole concept didn’t click for me. I abandoned it. But one night, when Horizons felt a little quieter, I decided to try again. I wanted to make a game—not just a space, but an actual experience.

Around the same time, Arena Clash released a template.

Not only did I learn the logic of codeblocks by digging through those scripts, but I also learned how to build an experience—something engaging, interactive, and fun. Fast forward to now, and I’ve got over 55 published worlds—or more—and counting.

Being asked to join the Meta Horizon Creator Program (MHCP) flipped my world upside down in the best way possible. The community, the creative outlet, the freedom to build literally anything you can imagine—it’s endless.

My skills have evolved with every world I’ve built, as new tools and features keep pushing my creativity further. My latest world, Bubble Buddies, took a few months to develop. Keep in mind—I did it all solo, with a bit of AI scripting help. Between being a father of three, working full-time, competing in contests, and building other worlds, being tired is just part of the routine at this point, LOL.

Bubble Buddies challenged me in ways no other project has. If I had to compare it to anything, it’s similar to The Office in its structure—but instead of a full team, it’s just me.

If I had to pick one world I’m most recognized for, it would have to be the UP Parkour series (1-5). Escape rooms are another space I’ve experimented with, and I’ve been able to design them so that riddles and solutions change every time you play. The goal? No one gets bored. If you come back, you get a different challenge.

Some goals as a creator would be to do this full-time. I want the freedom to build non-stop without limits. I’d love to finally be featured in Central—never have been, and seeing my work recognized at that level would be surreal. Bubble Buddies is a solid world, but not enough people even know it exists. That needs to change. My ideas are constantly brewing—I’d love to bring on a team to help bring them to life.

I also want to create a community where creators can openly discuss the good, the bad, and the great about Horizon Worlds. A space where new creators can ask for help without fear of being judged or ignored.

This platform literally changed my life. I have no idea where I’d be if I hadn’t taken that leap—and built that truly terrible first world, let alone if I didn't grab the headset when I did, BUT everything happens for a reason right!

And if you made it this far, I look forward to working with yall in the future and cant wait to see what everyone creates. Thanks for reading. Let’s keep building.   -13_Chris

      Hi Chris, aka 13_Chris,

I hope you are well! I totally get starting from a dark place and finding a lifeline in unexpected places. It’s wild isn't it for some of us, a headset diving into VR was more than what we originally thought it was going to be.

With three kids and a full time job in the mix, I can't even imagine but I will take a guess, are your children the first ones to tryout your worlds? How much of them give you inspiration? Do you own fish?? I chuckled at your ā€œabsolute disasterā€ first attempt. We’ve all been there with a messy creative start. Mostly maybe dipping back into your build and trying new things over and over again. Piecing apart template scripts is the most fun to do!

Now, I never experienced your Bubble Buddies yet, however I have UP Parkour literally in my saved world. (I had to screenshot) Really Kool seeing your posting here on the forum, I posted my intro a while back in this chain and even mentioned how I was inspired by some game aspects from other worlds to implement in my parkour world.  One being referenced from UP Parkour. Your UP Parkour world was one of the first worlds I dipped into when I was building my platformer parkour world. I went into a hangout world and while asking people if they wanted to test out my game world, a moderator offered me the suggestion to try out UP Parkour. Your world inspired me to add "Saved Checkpoints". And doing so, I learned codeblock script for saved checkpoints, which was a blast.

Joining into the Meta Horizon Creator Program must’ve felt like a well deserved win and a win every time you publish a world. Not being featured in Central yet? Maybe that’s their oversight, maybe they can't get passed levels 25 and up haha. The awesome thing to thing about... Central didn't suggest me your game, some person in another world did  šŸ™‚

Yes! Always agreed when others say this, The Horizon platform's potential, it’s endless, and it’s Kool to see how it’s changed your life.

Looking forward to seeing what you design up next, keep building, Ill check out Bubble Buddies šŸ™‚

Chris, can’t wait to hear more from you down in the Metaverse.

      Cheers,

      Matthew aka Pointy L. Fish

  • I was on vacation in Japan, where I bought a used HTC Vive headset, and then proceeded to buy a VQ3 a few days later. While trying out various MQ Worlds, I noticed there was an editor, and had some fun with it. Then I found the floor plans to my old high school, and found it to be the perfect challenge. Starting with Lego since childhood, to me this is just an infinite-size Lego set.

  • Hmm šŸ¤” my husband brought me a oculus  an made my account and told me I think you could learn to build in horizon  an it may help with your PTSD......I didn't know what horizon was or building (but for some reason it sparked interest in me ) he later brought me to grown ups soap stone and blac Harley  and princess  and katness Herbert worlds  where I met them ..**bleep** they build so good ...I didn't think then It was possible to build like them  that was the beginning of 2022...creating  in horizon is a gift that has gotten me through the toughest things in life  an keeps me going even when world around u isn't , the inspiration I can still create  beautiful things .What are your strengths and skills as a creator? My Community I have a strong foundation that keeps me stronge an we add to each other skills an help even when u don't see..I had to say it cuz I wouldn't be building if it wasn't for community
What’s your signature world—the one that best showcases your creative approach? I normally help an build for people so solar crib is one of my favorite the serinity there my own would be blue moon and fairytopia fantasy places I was able to bring to life now magic hour...
What goals are you working toward as a creator? Learning it's a constant but to build I believe I gotta learn more now that so I can build functional worlds and understand limits and what's not limitless while still enjoying the peace of the space

  • Ben, I really wish that the team would fix the huge issue with horizon worlds. The "people getting kicked out of everything, left right and center" issue is MADDENING. It's happening ALL THE TIME these days. Please, for the love of god, FIX THE UNDERLYING CODEBASE before doing anything else. What's going on currently is like putting a new sign on the front of a building that's on fire.

My world is CLOUD 9 ULTRACLUB. I was inspired to create the world because there are no other worlds like it and I wanted a place for my friends and I to hang out.

I'm working towards trying to get Meta to actually stabilize the platform. If this is your "frontend" as it were, there are so many issues that need fixed that it ceased being funny a long time ago. You CANNOT offer a "service" like this that's designed to ease people into vr when it is so FULL of errors (that the team themselves admit are a massive problem). PLEASE start listening to creators when they tell you that your systems are inefficient and borked, as that's the only way that this platform will stop haemmoraging users and creators. People are just going elsewhere as it's too frustrating to deal with all the bugs and random disconnections etc. It's a shame, as it could be really good, but right now it's mainly just a playground for potty mouthed children.

  • Hello Meta Citizens! Glad to be part of Horizon Worlds. I'm a small creator here exploring the platform—excited to connect and learn from this community!

What inspired you to create in Meta Horizon Worlds?

"I've always been passionate about blending storytelling with immersive experiences. Meta Horizon Worlds gives me the platform to bring those narratives to life in ways traditional media can't. The ability to create interconnected experiences where users can explore stories at their own pace really sparked my imagination."

What are your strengths and skills as a creator?

"My biggest strength is storytelling and creative world-building. I love weaving narratives into interactive experiences that feel alive and engaging. I approach each project thinking about how users will experience the story, not just see it—creating moments that are discoverable and meaningful."

What's your signature world—the one that best showcases your creative approach?

"BlackHoles.Store is my signature project—a hybrid IRL/digital merch space that goes beyond just being a store. It features an in-world broadcast network from a space port where users can tune into podcasts throughout the experience, plus portals that transport visitors to different story-driven worlds. It's my vision of how commerce, storytelling, and community can converge in the metaverse."

What goals are you working toward as a creator?

"My main goal is to build a collaborative creative ecosystem within BlackHoles.Store. As a solo creator balancing a full-time job and life responsibilities, I want to onboard and leverage other talented creators who share the vision. Together, we can expand the narrative universe, create interconnected experiences, and build something bigger than any one person could alone. I'm here because my curious mind won't let me ignore the possibilities—even if time is limited, the passion drives me forward."
