  • I think I have a solid design that fits the requirements.  Just grinding it out! Really excited about getting something ready for the feedback festival!  I'm also looking forward to playtesting others games people share here for feedback.  Big wins so far are the mentor workshops!

  • In the prototyping phase to see which idea will work better in horizon. I'm close to seeing which it will be. Then I can start on some pre-prod docs.

  • I am excited about being able to enter, and after re-reading everything I could, I still am feeling a little stuck.

    1. I want to document my journey in this competition on YouTube and I want to know if that breaks any of the rules? This one is very important to me because the entire project is about a creative process, which affects everyone.

    2. Even though I am going about this project as a solo (not an official team) I am relying on a few people who are mentoring me through a decently huge learning curve. I have already had someone offer to write a few scripts and does not want to be paid. I sure someone will want to share anything success as well. Can I share anything I win with people that have helped me without creating an official team? And can you confirm that I can enter as many worlds as I like as a solo creator, but may also work on a team at the same time?

    3. It is no surprise that I am using sound and music in my worlds. Many of the sounds I need are only 1 or two bars in length. ( 4 to 8 seconds) and do not constitute a song on their own so do not get flagged as copyright violations. These sounds need to be brought into the sound gizmo, but to make what I am doing very efficient and accurate for the timing, I need to bring these short samples into horizon worlds as Sound Files I want to upload the (.wav) files the same way I would a Texture or 3D Asset. Please consider this unique request. I don’t think anyone else will want to do what I am going to do. (I am happy to plead my case privately with examples.)

    4. The NICE MUSIC project was a template that I created to get some feedback but I had published it before the contest started. I am happy to start over with a new name and completely design my mobile genre based experience. It that OK?

    5. When can I get some one-on-one time with someone who understands the rules so I can go over these tidbits. I am dying to get started.

Can I work on my own personal submission and collaborate on another?
Yes, you can. You may enter as an individual and/ or as a member of a Team, but each individual may be a member of only one Team (i.e., you may submit one or more individual entries and one or more entries as a member of a Team, but you may not be a member of more than one Team

Can an entrant submit more than one entry?
An Entrant may submit more than one Entry, however, each Entry must be unique and substantially different from each of the Entrant’s other Entries, as determined by the Sponsor and Devpost in their sole discretion.

Sharing the winning prize with others?
It will be the responsibility of the winning Entrant’s Representative to allocate the prize among their Team’s participating members, as the Representative deems appropriate without involvement of Sponsor.

Please be aware that only entries within the 5 designated genres are eligible to win. We encourage all participants to submit their work under one of these categories to ensure consideration.

Your entry must be NEWLY published, publicly viewable by any user of Meta Horizon Worlds during the duration of the competition and not have been previously entered into any other challenge, sweepstakes, promotion, or competition. However, an Entry may use assets or code from Entrant’s existing Meta Horizon worlds, or from tutorials or examples provided to Entrant by Sponsor.

  • The builds were coming along well until the sound recording gizmo stopped working. Progress has been halted until that is fixed. I am also getting timeout errors when importing assets, so that is stalling things, as well.
