Сan't restore my game saves after deleting Asgard's Wrath 2

Like many others, I encountered the low memory problem while playing. According to the instructions, I checked that backups were enabled, then deleted the game data, deleted the game and reinstalled it. After that, I followed the link https://secure.oculus.com/my/cloud-backup/ and restored the backup of the saves before deleting. When I launched the game, I saw that it starts from the very beginning and does not see the saves. After that, I tried to restore the saves from the backup many times, but each time I started it, I started from the beginning. What should I do to make the backup work?

  • Thanks. After I reinstalled the game 3 times, the saves were found. Advice to everyone reading this topic. Delete the game data, delete the game, restore the backup and only then start the installation again. I don't know what exactly prevented the restoration, but that's the only way it happened.

  • Hi KirKILL 🙂

Actually, all you need to do is reinstall the game.

Your progress should be restored automatically if you're logged in with the same account.

I can only imagine that your most recent save data was overwritten somehow.🙁

Have you tried restoring one of your older save files from the cloud?

      Hello Choleni.

I have already reinstalled the game and cleared the data. The backup restored exactly the working saves before deleting the game, they weigh 1.3 megabytes. In VR in the cloud saves section after restoring from the backup I see the same saves that I restored, but the game still starts from the beginning.

I understand that you already restored it.

What I mean.... there is a little arrow beside the game name in the cloud backup.

When you tab on it, older save dates from the game are showed.

        Try an older date.

If there is no other date, it probably means all your progress is lost☹️

  • If you're having trouble restoring your Asgard's Wrath 2 saves after deleting and reinstalling the game, here's a step-by-step guide based on the information available:
    1. Check cloud backup status
Asgard's Wrath 2 relies on cloud saves. Verify that Cloud Backup was enabled on your headset before deleting the game. You can do this by navigating to Settings > General > Cloud Backup in your headset's menu.
You can also verify your cloud backup status and manage your backups online at secure.oculus.com/my/cloud-backup/.
    2. Restore saves (if backed up)
If cloud backup was enabled, you can attempt to restore your save files after reinstalling the game. Some users have reported successfully restoring backups this way, according to a discussion on Meta Community Forums.
The system might automatically prompt you to restore a backup on game launch, or you might need to manually select a backup from the options presented. You can also try selecting a previous save if the latest one is causing issues, according to Asgard's Wrath 2 Wiki.
    3. If you didn't have cloud backup or it's not working
Unfortunately, if cloud backup wasn't enabled before deletion, or if the restoration process isn't working, your progress might be lost.
    Important considerations
Deleting the game locally might trigger a cloud save if the "Update and backup before shutdown" option is enabled in your headset settings (Settings > General > Software Update).
Fresh installs are generally more reliable for retrieving cloud saves than updates, especially with slower or inconsistent Wi-Fi connections.
A recent patch for Asgard's Wrath 2 added support for up to five save files, which might improve the chances of retaining at least some progress in the future.
If you continue to have trouble
Consider seeking further assistance by posting in the '#bug-reporting' channel of the game's Discord server, says Asgard's Wrath 2 Wiki.

    Good Luck
