About to start flat2vr and similar mods for more PCVR...should I keep my 4090 for this?

Hi!
I was about to sell my 4090 and get a 5080 as I will end up pocketing about $700 BUT I just learned about all these mods and started seeing some comments that PCVR can get over the 16GB VRAM limit lf the 5080 and that the 4090 would be a better card to keep.
Do you agree?
