App Sharing

I have a Quest 3 and 2, i have set the quest 2 to have app sharing for my partner, I have Walkabout Minigolf purchased on my primary account, bit can not install it under the secondary account on the quest 2. The shop says that Walkabout Minigolf has already been purchased on this device and is shared but will not show up in the library or allow me to install from the shop. Someone please help?

  • Hi BlackIce2321โ€‹ ๐Ÿ™‚

Is your entire library missing from the second profile?
If so, logging out and back in with that may resolve the issue.

If it's just a Walkabout.... is the game installed on your admin account on the Quest 2?

If so, uninstall it and see if the second account can install it then.
If not, install it and see if the second account can install it then.
    Weird suggestions, I know๐Ÿ˜‚

Normally, none of these steps are necessary to enable app sharing....  but it's something I would try if its not working how it should.๐Ÿคทโ€โ™€๏ธ

It also possible that it is caused by a bug in v79....

Here is another thread, the user has the same issue.

This is what Google AI had to say:

Yes, Walkabout Mini Golf VR supports Meta's App Sharing feature, allowing multiple players to enjoy the game on different headsets using one purchased copy. To enable this, one headset must be set as the "primary" headset under the main Meta account, and a secondary account must be created on that same headset. On the second headset, the secondary account is used, with App Sharing enabled on the primary headset to share the game.

Here's how to set it up for simultaneous multiplayer use:
Designate a Primary Headset: Choose one headset to be the "primary" device for the owner's main Meta account.
Create a Secondary Account: On the primary headset, add a new secondary account for the other player.

Enable App Sharing: On the primary headset, go to settings and enable App Sharing, allowing all secondary accounts on that headset to access the primary account's purchased apps, including Walkabout Mini Golf.

Log in on the Second Headset: Log into the secondary account on the second headset.

Create In-Game Profiles: For Walkabout Mini Golf, it's recommended to create a new in-game profile for the secondary account to use. This allows both players to launch and play the game simultaneously.

        Important Considerations:

No Simultaneous Logins on the Same Account:
You cannot be logged into the same primary account on two headsets simultaneously and play the game at the same time. Attempting to do so will result in an error message.

        In-Game Profile Names:
Using the same name for both players will lead to confusion in the in-game scoreboards, so distinct in-game profiles are recommended.

        Guest Passes:
The game also supports a guest pass feature, allowing players who have not purchased specific courses to play them with a friend who has.

By Secondary Account, does that mean a second Profile? I've done everything suggested, but I still can't get my apps to show up on our second, new Quest 3. Thanks.

  • Thank you for all suggestions team, nothing seems to be working tho. still cant see nor download Walkabout on the Quest 2 (which is set to me as Primary with App Sharing Enables) under my partners account (secondary account). Not showing up in the library.

That's really strange, Walkabout is definitely a game that can be shared.

I wonder if it would work if app sharing and the second account were  on the Quest 3??

I'm good at making illogical suggestions๐Ÿคฃ

  • Hey all.

Just so you know, I ended up connecting with Meta customer support about the issue, they didnt know what was going wrong either so they gave me 2 solutions.

    1. To contact the developer directly, which could of taken a long time to respond and fix the issue.
    2. Was to give the secondary account credit for the game so I could just purchase it on the second account, easier option.

This was absolutely amazing from Meta, was not expecting the 2 second option, which was the one I accepted.

Thank you all for your suggestions and trying to help.
