'Aspect Ratio' missing on Remote Desktop

Hey guys! I posted about this a while ago on V81 thread, but didn't get any replies :(

I saw Luna and UploadVR posted on Twitter about Remote desktop now allowing you to choose between different aspect ratio on V81, including wide and ultrawide options.

Quest 3's Windows 11 Remote Desktop Gets Aspect Ratio Setting & Ultrawide Mode

Also, the official doc was also updated (see near the end, on 'Adding and resizing virtual screens'): Use your computer in VR with Meta Quest Remote Desktop | Quest Help | Meta Store

I'm on V81, and with my apps updated both on Quest and Windows, but didn't get this option yet. πŸ€” Has anyone? Did you manage to activate it somehow?

A while ago on reddit a user told me this. So maybe is the Mixed reallity app version for Windows, or my gpu or something πŸ‘€

Can someone help me troubleshoot this, please? πŸ™πŸ»

Hi miike_mm! Thank you for bringing this issue to our attention.

We understand that it can be confusing to update your software only to find out that some of the new features and updates are missing, even though your device says it's up to date.

The recent Meta Quest update made the aspect ratio feature available for Remote Desktop. However, this setting is located in the virtual desktop menu on your headset rather than in the main Quest settings. This feature was recently added to an update for Quest 3 and Quest 3S users with Windows 11 Remote Desktop integration.

It's important to note that our software updates aren't released to all users at the same time. They are rolled out in phases to ensure a smoother transition and allow us to monitor for any issues before wider distribution. This phased rollout helps minimize the impact of potential bugs or problems that might arise with a new update.

With that say, since your device says it's up to date, we would like for you to try a simple restart of your device, as this can sometimes resolve temporary glitches. If the new feature is still missing for you, we would recommend you to submit a bug report so that we can better understand the issue and review it with our team.

To submit a bug report, you need to:

    1. Press Meta button or Oculus button on your right Touch controller to open the universal menu.
    2. Select the clock on the left-hand side of the universal menu to open Quick settings.
    3. Select Report problem.
    4. Select Include or Don't include to add complete logs and diagnostics.
    5. Follow the instructions to submit your report.

You can also quickly press the Meta button / Oculus button on your right Touch controller five times in a row to open the bug report tool. You can find more information about this here.

At this stage of the information collection process, we kindly request that you continue to submit bug reports as they arise. This will provide our engineering team with additional data to investigate and  hopefully come to a resolution quicker.

If you have any other questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to reach back out to us, we are always more than happy to help our VR family!
