Crossbuy doesn’t work

I recently bought the Oculus Quest version of Vader immortal but when I go my PC to claim it for the Rift it doesn’t work and it just says “Error performing query”

  • Hey, it's working now. Looks like Meta has fixed the cross-buy issue 🙂.

    Which Meta store did you buy it from? You have to purchase the Crossbuy version from the PCVR store (select Store from within the Meta Horizon Link PC app), not from the Quest store. The one in the Quest Store is not Crossbuy. Alternatively, navigate to the Quest Store website, and there is a little drop-down box where you can choose between Quest and PCVR (you need to select PCVR):

    Contact MetaStoreHelp​ they might be able to exchange the game for you, but I think the Crossbuy version is not on sale, so you will have to pay more.

      I couldn't redeem mine, even after the sale had ended.

  • Just to add on to this, I recently realised I could redeem my Vader Immortal games, which I originally purchased on the headset, on the PC app and was able to play them there. I have also done it with a few other games in the past; Walkabout, Myst, etc.

    However, I purchased The Climb last week as it was in the sale on the Meta Quest Store (in headset) but I cannot redeem it on the Meta Horizon Link (PC) app, even after waiting for the sale to end. The whole reason I got it was because it was on the Cross-Buy list :(

      After chatting with Support they said:

      It appears this issue stems from the game developers and may be related to licensing errors affecting certain titles. To resolve this, I can process a refund for the game and add a $10 credit to your account as compensation.

      Whether that's the truth, who knows, but it is a massive shame on the Cross-Buy for the few games that support it. I suggested that someone needs to take the game off of the Cross-Buy list.

      Unless you now have to buy the PC version of the game, but they are never discounted anymore  :(

        But this means..... you got the money for the game back,  PLUS $10 credit.

        So it's enough to buy the pc version?

    That's weird.
    Because I just recently got Vader Immortal with cross buy. Somewhere in November.

    I think the issue started happening after winter Link app overhaul.

      It has absolutely nothing to do with Link. It happens on the main web-based store page as well. I never even buy my games through the Link PC app, only through the Quest 3 headset or the web-based Quest or PCVR store.

        Not really.
        I have titles that cannot be redeemed on the web. It says "Launch". When I click on the button - nothing happens - an empty white popup appears.

        So the issue may not specifically be related to Link app but rather backend or DB.

        I assume with winter Link app overhaul they changed something in backend what broken cross buy.

      I had this issue on 2025.12.15, and noticed threads appearing here and on Reddit on the same date and afterwards (but the issue . It seems to be a server-side issue on the Meta Store. It might have coincided with other Meta updates (since they usually bundle many changes in a single update, and an update on a server might require a client update too).

      The issue being discussed here is not being able to redeem a cross-buy title. On another message you said you could not "launch" a title - so it seems to be redeemed already. Could you describe your issue with more details?

        What I was describing is the same issue.
        I remember details vaguely since it's been several months.

        Generally here is what was happening for me:
        1. I got "Shadow Point" and "Raccoon Lagoon" on 17th February during some winter sale. Tried getting PCVR version in the app and it failed with "Error performing query".
        2. I tried redeeming it on the web. Somewhere these days I addressed support so not sure whether they did something or I was successfull getting the title from the web. In any case web started showing grayed out "Purchased". App still was showing "Get" instead of "Launch" and when I was trying to get it same "Error performing query" was appearing.
        3. Some time later I went on the web again and noticed grayed out "Purcahsed" button changed to "Launch". But when I was clicking it nothing was happening. Just empty white window was appearing. No messages, no actions. Link app behaves the same - "Get" instead of "Launch" and "Error performing query".

        I'm pretty sure it's related to the big winter update. When Link app was overhauled (its design changed). Have a strong feeling they changed something in backend what broke Quest to PCVR cross buy.

        I was able to get all three "Vader Immortal" on 29th November.
        The person started this topic 3 months ago - so somewhere January - after the big Link app update.

    I had the same issue (with Shadow Point and Raccoon Lagoon).
    After refunding the title and purchasing it again later I was able to get it on PCVR with cross buy.
    I made the Quest version purchase on the web and PCVR version redemption right away in Link app.

    I'm not sure whether something was resolved in backend and I needed to reset the state in my library or it was a sale issue (title bought on specific sale could not be redeemed).
    In any case I was able to get it.

      Thanks for letting us know! I tried to redeem the apps I was having issues with and I finally could redeem them! 😁 It looks like the issue was really fixed!
