I’ve actually seen this happen a couple of times with Meta gifts. Usually the license gets attached to the account correctly, but the store/library sync bugs out. What worked for my friend was fully restarting the headset, then opening the Meta Quest app and checking the game page again from inside the headset store instead of the phone app.
Another thing worth checking is whether the game supports his headset model, because Meta sometimes greys out install buttons if compatibility is weird. Logging out and back into the Meta app can also force the library to refresh.
If none of that works, it honestly sounds like a stuck entitlement on Meta’s side. Since the store already shows he owns it, support should be able to fix it pretty quickly.

As the title says, I gifted my friend Deadly Delivery on the Meta Quest store, and although I got the email that he accepted it and can see on the store page that he owns it, the game won't appear on his library nor does it allow him to download it from the store page. Instead the game appears with the price greyed out. If he tries to install the game through the phone app, nothing happens when tapping "Install on headset". He doesn't play a lot of VR, but I've never had an issue with gifting a game before.
Yeah this looks like one of those random Meta store glitches tbh. If the store shows it as “owned” but there’s no install button / nothing happens, it’s usually not the gift itself but the account or sync being stuck.

Hi Michelle, that's not usual. Can you get your friend to take a look in his hidden games in his library. Is it possible he tried a demo of the game and hid the icon and forgot. I say that because I did the same thing when I thought Red Matter 2 which I bought had disappeared! 😁 On the library, he just needs to hit the games menu at the side and open hidden apps just in case it's there.

Honestly, this might be the most immersive feature the devs have ever added. A game about disastrous deliveries… that refuses to deliver itself. That's some next‑level commitment to the lore. Tell your friends the first boss fight is apparently 'Locate the Install Button'. 😆

Hi there,
We noticed your post and would love to lend a hand so you can both get back to exploring the Metaverse together!
Here are a few things your friend can try out, to get their app downloaded:
Try power cycling their device:
For Meta Quest headset:
Hold the power button down until the shutdown options appear.
Power off the headset. Do a full shutdown, not just a restart.
Wait 30 seconds.
Power the headset back on.
Make sure that the Meta Horizon app is up to date.
Log out and log back in on the headset:
For Meta Quest headset:
Hold the power button down until the shutdown options appear.
Power off the headset. Do a full shutdown, not just a restart.
Log out of the Meta Horizon mobile app.
Restart the mobile phone.
Log in to the Meta Horizon mobile app.
Power the headset back on.
If they are still having issues, please don't hesitate to get back in touch!
