Yes, the Quest just doesn't track location well in the dark. I've noticed that turning on a dim lamp or using infrared light helps. What's interesting is that you don't even notice the extra light, but suddenly the headset is tracking location perfectly again.

This seems counterintuitive, and I have trouble believing it myself, so you can be my guinea pig 😁. In your headset settings, under Link->Remote Desktop->"Suggest to connect", toggle this setting to OFF. Let us know if it improves the hand tracking in the dark.
Reason: there were two users who said the infrared lights on their headsets would not turn on until they disabled that setting, then their hands would track correctly in the dark. No one knows why this worked for them, so let us know if it works for you.

A good question. The tracking in low light is affected by hardware limitations, which is why you can see the warning that it might not be able to track hand movements in low light. The front cameras and sensors can only do so much. The best thing to do in low light situations is to increase your light just enough to make it possible. I use a dimmer switch and through experience I know the exact level to keep it dim but enough to allow tracking. Hope this helps! 💡💡😁
