I gifted an app to a friend, but it seems he haven’t received it

I gifted an app to a friend, but it seems he haven’t received it. I’m unable to cancel the transaction on my end, which is quite troubling. There appears to have been no notification sent to the recipient, and I’m also unable to initiate a refund. The title of the game is Contractors Showdown.

  • Gifts that could be sent to certain countries until May are now unavailable. Support told me I can't cancel them and must wait 30 days.

    Shouldn't the system either prevent selection of ineligible countries at the time of sending or allow senders to cancel gifts? Waiting 30 days for a refund is just a waste of time.

    You are right, only the receiver of a gift can request the refund.... which obviousley isn't possible when he did not receive it.

    You must talk to support , so they can look into that and see what went wrong.

      i have lost more than 100$ on my second account and 30$ on this account, no gift code arrived to multiple emails/account, this issue since 3 days, and am still waiting. and the money deducted already but nothing arrived. meta start scamming their customers.

  • they just go for a solution to refund a buyer not to fix the gift emails not arriving in general for all buyers. in my case, i just want the code to arrive or dont deduct and say gift has been sent but actually meta store just steal the money and nothing send to customers.

      Same situation here — I’ve gifted Beat Saber three times to three different accounts and email addresses, and none of them have received it. It’s been over two hours now. A friend of mine has been waiting for three days. Everything used to work fine, but over the past three days, the gifting system has been unreliable. They’re deducting money without delivering the product. Feels like Meta is scamming people at this point.

      none of the above gifts(codes) is arrived to the email/account. 

  • I’ve also been unable to send gifts to friends for the past two days. I tried three times, even using different accounts and different recipients, differnet game , but nothing changed. It really seems like there’s an issue with Meta’s gifting feature right now. This has been going on for at least 2–3 days, and I’m not sure if Meta is aware of the problem. I hope it gets resolved quickly.

    You all should send a bug report to let Meta know about.

    Report a bug on Meta Quest

    and of course talk to support to get the money back that you've spent for nothing.

      I agree. It should be quite reasonable to assume that the attempted gifting should immediately be rejected by the system. Nobody has a right to hold on to your money for up to 30 days. You should be entitled to 30 days bank interest added on if they keep your cash for a month. I've never gifted anyone because I'm a big meanie, 😂, but it's good to know this situation. Thanks for sharing it. Maybe Meta can put a notice on this before you buy.

        You are right, it would be better if you get some warning that sending a gift to a person won't work.

        But maybe that's not possible? I mean, gifts are sended to your account/email, not to a country.

        So, if I would gift you a game - I won't....I'm  mean, too🤣- you were not be able to receive as long as you are in Turkey.

        But if I would send you a gift while you are on vacation in Germany, it will work.
