Is It Possible to Unsubscribe from All Emails

I received an email that I didn't want. It was specific to one game. I don't want to receive these emails every time Oculus gets a new game or product or whim. My email is for important/personal things, not for advertising. I made an inquiry with Oculus support via its web site, asking for instructions on how to unsubscribe from everything. Oculus support was not helpful.

My inquiry:
Please
direct me how to unsubscribe from all mailing lists by Oculus and its
affiliates, and whomever else Oculus shares information with.

Response from Oculus:

Thank you for reaching out to Oculus Support.

If you have received an email from us, there should be a link at the bottom of the email you received that says unsubscribe.

Let me know if there is anything else I can do for you.

My question was not answered, and I don't like receiving the runaround. The response from Oculus requires me to receive an unwanted email first, then I am expected to unsubscribe from only that specific mailing list, which is ineffective at preventing reoccurences when the list one is unsubscribing from is as specific as the "Edge of Nowhere Mailing List." Therefore, I'm taking my inquiry public in the hope that I can obtain a reply that answers my specific inquiry.

Thank you, in advance!

Thats a good question, I too would like to know.

I unsubscribed from the advertising email, but the unsubscribe page seemed specific to that single email.
"You have been removed from Edge of Nowhere Launch List."

Seem's a bit pointless unsubscribing from something that I already received when I wanted to unsubscribe from all of these type of emails.

You asked how to unsubscribe, they told you there's an unsubscribe link at the bottom of the email.  Click the unsubscribe link.  Done.

Or if you're really that offended by the horrors of being subscribed to a mailing list that you probably clicked the button to subscribe to when you created your oculus account then add Oculus emails to your spam filter.

I click Unsubscribe. It takes me to an error page.  So... No, not done. Everything about Meta is intended to keep you trapped.  Such as obsolescence of a 2 year old product to get you to upgrade to the next. And who knows how quickly that becomes unsupported!?

The unsubscribe link does not take you to a site where you can unsubscribe. It just opens up your FB page. I have been searching for the actual unsubscribe page for months, if not years.

That probably wouldn't be wise--he may not want to hear about new games, but when Touch comes available for pre-order, he'll be complaining that nobody told him!

    Hi TwoHedWlf,

Your condescending and insulting reply is noted. I see that reading comprehension is not your thing. Re-read my original inquiry, and take care to notice the word "all" which places in context the following term "mailing lists." See also that said term is plural as indicated by the suffix "s."

Seeing now that my original inquiry was not requesting instruction about unsubscribing from one single mailing list, you can now see that the answer I received--how to unsubscribe from one specific mailing list--does not answer my inquiry.

You assert that I am both offended by the "horrors of being subscribed" and yet you allege that I subscribed inadvertently. Assuming I didn't begin using the internet yesterday, has it occurred to you that if I feel so strongly about controlling my subscriptions then I wouldn't inadvertently subscribe to mailing lists? I do, in fact, take care to uncheck any boxes, and leave unchecked any boxes that are unchecked by default, that cause me to be subscribed to mailing lists upon account creation. You would do well to believe the Oculus account is not the first account I've made.

Take care about your tone and language in the future, and if you must berate someone, then take greater care to ensure you are actually correct.

OK, more than 24 hours have passed. The issue is comparatively minor, but it's just the latest in a series of slights: Facebook buyout, closed system business practices, miscommunication, "it's in the ball park of...", delayed orders, tales of units DOA with support being non responsive. All of the goodwill built in the beginning has been spent as if by a child with his parent's cash. I've weathered the red flags, hiccups, and shortcomings, looking beyond them at the ideas and spirit that Oculus espoused in the beginning. But, that's all changed. Oculus has displayed no recent desire to obtain customers though good business practices, and it's shed its original ideas in favor for a new corporate skin.

This situation with the email portends of the kind of relationship Oculus wants to have with its customers--a one sided affair not build on respect, but built on the outdated idea that I have no other choice. It's not the kind of relationship I am interested in. I've had a relationship with Valve for over a decade and not once received an unwanted email.

I really wanted to stick with the founder of modern VR. But I feel driven away. Fine. I'll take my money elsewhere until you show you really want it.

If you have any luck, please... post.  I wish to completely erase my accounts, but I too cannot unsubscribe...or anything else for that matter... the link shows an error message and everything, goes nowhere..  Completely agree with you.  But, once a big outfit like this, gets it's foot in your door... you're screwed.
