Meta and Marvel Collaboration for a Spider-Man VR Game

I would like to suggest a collaboration between Meta and Marvel to develop a full Spider-Man VR game for the Meta Quest platform. Spider-Man is one of Marvel’s most iconic and globally recognized characters, with a massive fan base of all ages. A high-quality VR experience that allows players to swing through the city, engage in combat, and truly feel like Spider-Man would be incredibly exciting and immersive.

Such a title could significantly increase interest in the Meta Quest headset, as many fans would be motivated to purchase the device specifically to experience being Spider-Man in virtual reality. I believe this collaboration would be highly successful and beneficial for both companies.

  • This is a great plan and I would love to be included as one Spider-Man in virtual reality and I believe this collaboration would be highly successful and beneficial for good companies as well

  • It's a great idea but as Meta are moving away from game development and leaving it to 3rd parties, probably better to approach independent game studios with your idea. 👍

Love the optimism, mate. Truly. But given the recent Reality Labs sackings, studios getting quietly sunsetted, and Meta's new "re‑prioritise everything that isn't on fire" strategy, a full‑fat Spider‑Man VR game right now feels about as likely as Zuckerberg personally web‑swinging into your lounge room to deliver the headset.

Does this mean we won't see any other Meta exclusives like Batman?

As steve_40 says, yup. It's widely publicized that Meta have decided to change their headset to becoming primarily a gaming platform for 3rd party developers to host their games. This is something they should have been doing from the start, personally I'm happy to see the changes. It's a pity about not having exclusives, but gaming companies can't make money on exclusives. A game needs to be both good, and cross platform as much as possible. Even Horizon Worlds is going to disappear from the headset.....which is brilliant news to be honest.
