My meta quest app doesn't want to play videos or download them

    Hey everyone! I wanted to jump in here to provide some direction if not already. 

    It looks like the best course of action now would be to submit a bug report which will go straight to the engineers for review if you're unable to download/share your videos. You can do this through a couple ways, the first being the headset/mobile app and the next being the PC app. 

    Clear and concise reports will make it easier for them to pinpoint the issue and work on it.

I am having the same issue. What do I need to do if it over 1mb? How do I sync with a cord?

    Thanks for reaching out and letting us know, Cascade_ranger and Fancy_dummy! As we've been able to go over previously, larger files can take longer to sync, and VR videos over a minute long will need to be individually synced from VR. Aside from that, please also make sure your phone software is up to date, your Meta Quest software is up to date, and your phone is currently compatible with Meta Quest. Since you mentioned this happening with videos that are over that given one minute or close to 10 minutes, there is a chance that the specific videos may be too large to sync to or download from your app. What we can highly recommend, if you are able to, is transferring those videos from your Meta Quest headset directly to a PC to access them there. Here's an article going over how to do so, just to see if the files can be transferred and used that way. We look forward to hearing from you, so get back to us when you can!

      Thanks for the response, but I think you're missing some key details. Firstly the videos that I create are synching to the Meta app, the issue under discussion in this thread is the fact that you can't download the videos from Quest to a phone or computer. It's also not a matter of a long time, it's a matter of the downloads not functioning. Also, you didn't answer the question on how to view the file size. As I already mentioned, my phone is up to date, my quest software is up to date, the internet connection is great. The issue is not on my side. Your point about the "chance" that the files are too large to download sounds like the key issue here. I'm assuming you know what this maximum file size is, but it's so small that it's embarrassing to mention in a public forum? Because otherwise you might answer by saying "Files larger than 1 Mb cannot be downloaded from Meta Quest". 

      Thanks for sharing the link but it didn't help me either. I use a Mac, and the instructions ask for you to download an Android file transfer tool, which is weird, and that tool complains because I don't have an Android device. So that doesn't help either. (I note that the headline is overly optimistic by saying "There are several ways to transfer photos and videos" and then proceeds to provide one way for a PC and one way for a Mac, and the Mac way requires an Android device. Which is technically only one way for Mac users with Android and zero ways for Mac users without Android.)

      I think probably what you want to say is that it's not possible? If so, blink twice and we won't tell your boss you told us.

        You're correct, Cascade_ranger! At this time, users with macOS versions 13.4 or earlier are required to download and use the Android File Transfer tool. Your Meta Quest 3 is the Android device that the file transfer tool is referring to, so as long as you're using macOS versions 13.4 or earlier, you should be able to transfer files. Can you confirm that your macOS meets those requirements? If you're using Sonoma (the latest Mac OS), we can't confirm that this method will still be supported. We're looking forward to your response!
