I just ended up creating my kid an adult account because the Meta system is so backwards. The parental controls are a complete joke. My kids have parental controls set up everywhere else and they work fine. Apple is great with the easy ask-to-buy for apps and purchases! It can't be that difficult... Still so annoyed that meta gift cards can't be used for in-game purchases it makes no sense. But then Meta gave me "store credit" for buying the headset that could be used for in game purchases which was even more confusing. Still trying to explain to my kid why the gift cards he got for xmas were not usable for in app purchases ๐
Hey there, @neuroanatomist.2023! We understand how crucial it is for you to be able to purchase apps for your child's account. Just to shed some light on this matter for you, please try to follow these helpful tips:
- In the Meta Quest app, go to your notifications. Then, tap the notification about the app download request.
- Review the app information, then tap Review app.
- Tap either Allow or Block.
- If you allow a paid app, then complete the purchase by tapping Purchase for your child.
Your child will get a notification about your decision. If you allow the app, then they can install it on their Meta Quest headset.
Parents can also gift apps that their children havenโt requested from the Meta Quest Store.
However, we'd like to remain transparent in this matter, so as for the gift cards, they will have to be redeemed on the parent account in order for them to be used for any purchases for the child, as the child account does not require a payment method. If you still run into issues allowing apps to access your child's account, please let us know by sending us a PM. We're always happy to help when we can.

Thanks for the reply. I approved the app, but I do not recall seeing a purchase option. The app now shows as allowed with no way to purchase.
If I block it, can he re-request access so that I can see the purchase link, or is there another recommendation?

We appreciate you providing those details, @neuroanatomist.2023! We want to make sure we are on the same page, and we'd like to get a better understanding of what exactly is happening! You're able to gift the app to your son, but the purchase option wasn't appearing. We'd like to get more insight on this; please provide the following details listed below:!
- Does the game show up on your son's account?
- Have you checked your bank account to see if the payment came out of your account or not?
- If possible, please send us a screenshot of what is appearing on your end.
We look forward to hearing back from you!

Earlier in this thread, you suggested adding a payment method secured by a PIN to the supervised account to allow for in-app purchases by a child. I tried to add a payment method to my child's wallet on the headset and was denied, because of his age restrictions. Can you explain to me in very detailed language how I can allow my children to make in-app purchases using their supervised accounts on the Meta Quest 3?

I've loaded a gift card to my account. My son sent a request for VAIL in game money, I approved and sent him the purchase. It's showing up as a purchase on my account, but won't go through to my son's account even though I purchased it for him through the Meta app.
I can't request a refund because I don't have a device, but I can't send the purchase over to him because, well I don't know why.
It's an absolute nightmare trying to get any help. How do I either get my money refunded, or get this to be sent over to my son's account?
