No more pain after changing eye-relief level!

I'm using the official Elite Strap. Eye relief is on level 4 (max distance).

Previously I lasted about 40 minutes before it got too painful (back of the head). However just now I lasted a full hour with absolutely no pain or discomfort. I couldn't believe it myself, I was just testing my new prescription lenses.

Hope this helps someone!

I am short-sighted in one eye, long sighted in the other, and have astigmatism. I use my Quest 3 with the eye-relief set at maximum. I do not wear my glasses while playing and the image is actually surprisingly clear after finding the sweet spot. My longest play session was about 18 hours with minimum breaks, but I applied manuka honey eye drops 3 or 4 times to prevent dry eyes. They help a lot.

fish_whisperer_01 That's very interesting. I'm slightly short sighted in both eyes and use prescription lens attachments. Are you able to do without lenses ? Those honey eye drops sound interesting. I've never heard of them. Might be a good idea for everyone !

Maccyb123 I am able to use my Quest 3 comfortably without wearing glasses or prescription headset lens inserts, even though I need to wear glasses to drive!

When I had the Gear VR back in 2017 I could use it without glasses though like you I needed them for driving. Though If I remember correctly there was a wheel that could move the lenses forwards and backwards to get it sharper. Now, there is just a very slight fuzzyness, so the lenses are great. I wasn't sure how they'd work so I first got some very cheaply from Ali Express with anti glare and blue light. Less than $40 inc import taxes for 2 sets based on the prescription I sent them. I was only going to use it as a test and get what I thought would be better ones but it turns out they're perfect ! It's great though that you can get away without them. The distance to the lenses is important and you are right in the vision zone !
