Oculus Rift S has gone green

Hello, I have just restarting playing VR after about a month break and now everything is green in color. I have updated my drivers, reseat the rift S, and reseat the display cable connected to the headset. I don't know what else to try. Thanks in advance!

I have fixed it by rolling back my drivers to 23.11 on AMDs website. It is just an error with the most recent drivers.

Hello, thank you for your response! I am running on an AMD 7800xt with a 5900x processor which I believe is well above the necessary specifications. As I stated above I have updated both my graphics drivers and the rift drivers to the most recent ones.  I do believe it can be something wrong with the cable.

Hi again Athos10117! Thank you for providing that information as it was very helpful! Just a couple of questions to get a better understanding:

        • Have you used this set up previously?
        • Were you able to try a different link cable?

Also, please check your link cable for any visible damages. Let us know so that we can continue assisting!

This issue was resolved in the Adrenalin Edition 24.2.1 and noted in the changelog.

  • I am having the same issue, this is the same setup i have been using with the rift s for years. I took a break for a couple years and just tried to come back to it now it looks like i'm using NVGs.

This post is from February 7th of 2024 referring to drivers, its now over a year later and I just ran into the issue. Driver version 32.0.13031.3015 on an AMD 7800XT, I am not rolling back to version 23 for this. I don't get how it's still a problem after all this time

  • Hello everyone, I'm having the exact same issue right now and running on AMD drivers 25.3.1. I just can't understand how this is still an issue, even if the problem is known for more than a year now... Please Meta do something ! I have a Radeon RX 7900 XTX and can't run my old Rift S ?? Unacceptable. So may I ask you to update your Meta drivers or just call AMD to correct their GPU drivers ? Thank you very much. Love.

Yes I already did it but it's a very annoying solution because AMD drivers automatically go back to the last release after a time (even if you disable it in the settings). So it needs to be temporary.

Rolling back drivers should not be a solution. It is their job to make correct and functional drivers for every VR headsets. So we're just asking for a permanent and stable solution. Thanks.

You are absolutely correct... it's just a workaround.🙂

  • come on AMD 25.5.1 Adrenalin driver still green-tint on rift s this is a lot of annoying where a solution for this to not occurs again please fix it permanentely

where the solution people to not to rollback the adrenalin driver. i'm too upset with this. really. so sad

  • I also have this issue. Same as described. Solved by rolling back the driver. Occurs with Rift S and an AMD Radeon 6600 GPU running version 25.5.1. Rolling back to version 24.12.1 solves the issue.
