    Hey there jimmy.221525

We'd love to try and help a little with the recording issue on your Meta Quest 3, where you're only picking up your own audio. It's so frustrating when your recordings only capture your own voice, especially when you're trying to share your VR fun with friends, and we want to help you get back to having the best time possible in VR.

Let's try a few things to get you back on track:

    • Make sure your headset software is fully up to date.
    • Double-check that the in-game volume isn't too low or muted.
    • Test recording in a few different games or apps to see if the problem is specific to one app.
    • Look for a separate microphone setting in the game's menu, as some apps have their own audio settings.
    • Try resetting your microphone by going to Settings > System > Sound > and toggling the microphone off and on again.

If the issue continues, a hard reboot often resolves this. Here's how to do it:

    Turn off your headset completely.
Press and hold the power and volume (-) buttons at the same time until the boot screen appears.
Use the volume buttons to highlight "Boot device" and press the power button to select it.

    We really this helps some!

  • This is most likely to happen when your recording app only records microphone input. You need to enable system audio or game audio recording in your app's settings. And use software that supports mixed audio recording.
