Small VR's

The Big Screen Beyond 2 now has a world record for the lightest amazing working vr, I do suggest you make a vr around 99 grams and just use everything in the vr and make it smaller and it will work like a charm. Which will cost less Money I think, and sell it for 400 Dollars/400 Pounds.

  • You're dreaming. Smaller and lighter doesn't mean cheap. Big Screen beyond costs $1000 minimum without controllers and $1200 with eye tracking, and there's no standalone option. A Quest that size will need a puck and would likely cost $1500.

  • There doesnt have to be eye tracking and meta quest uses different parts compared to the BSB2. It would cost around 650/700 dollars to make and they could sell it for 800.

Again, you are in dreamland my friend. You've just doubled your price from $400 to $800 and that's still not enough, and take it from an engineer, you cannot make something for $650 or $700 and sell it for $800. The profit margin would be totally eaten up by marketing and shipping costs. If you make something for $700 you have to sell it for double that,, at least $1,400. I've been involved for many years in engineering design and development. Maybe when you are older and go to college you'll understand how manufacturing costs and margins work. The next Quest 4 will likely have better tech and be much lighter, (Project Phoenix device, most likely), it won't be subsidized and will be somewhere close to $1,000.
