Soundboards

My 13 year old is very interested in getting a soundboard to use while playing games like Among Us and Gorilla Tag. Is this bannable? If not, can anyone offer insight on where to start? Does he need to play on PC for that or with a Steam account? Typically my kids only play on the headset. I’m not very tech saavy but I am willing to help my kid learn. Thanks for any advice.

    Hey GoofyGamer846! I noticed support already chimed in on this one, but I wanted to drop in and share some extra insight for you. Among Us and Gorilla Tag are both available for standalone Quest 2, so you don't necessarily need a PC to play. However, to use the soundboards you'd need to be on Steam. 

     

    I really have no idea about soundboards being bannable in-game, but you can always contact the devs! For Among Us click here, for Gorilla Tag click here. After a quick internet search it looks like it's not against any rules, but it's always better to play it safe.

    Hey there, GoofyGamer846, thanks for reaching out about your problem. We realize that this might sound like a fun idea to try with your child. However, there is just a little problem. The official storefront does not have any soundboards available. Or at least nothing that is easily identifiable. You might be able to utilize Steam to try to download something similar to what your child might want, but since that isn't something we can help with on our end, we might not be able to help much. We also; wouldn't recommend any workarounds because if something goes wrong, we might not be able to help. Moding or downloading anything that might not be safe for the headset voids the terms of service. Let us know if this is helpful; we'd love to hear your feedback.

    While not directly against the rules (that I can see, but haven't looked hard), I do see multiple people getting banned because they annoyed everyone else in the game with soundboards, resulting in reports against them.

    Wrongly used soundboards can be extremely irritating.

    Thank you to everyone who took time to reply and confirm that we do in fact need to be on Steam to use soundboards. 
    I am definitely not interested in modding anything but I was hoping there was an alternative solution to PC gaming for this. Fingers crossed that this option is developed soon. 🤞🏼
