I've added a few more games to the top post. There are a few more games I considered including, but I'm too unsure about the quality. These games are:

    Adrian's Quest

    https://store.steampowered.com/app/2779620/Adrians_Quest/

Losted (trailer can only be found on Steam)

    https://store.steampowered.com/app/1749900/Losted/

    Xenoculus

    https://store.steampowered.com/app/3708210/Xenolocus/

    Cabinet of Curiosities

    https://store.steampowered.com/app/1986490/Cabinet_of_Curiosities_VR/

    Bramblefort is also looking great-ish:

Devs just released a new video:

    https://www.reddit.com/r/ValveIndex/comments/1q8guhn/new_features_from_our_victorian_vr_horror_game/

Find and wishlist the game here:

Some more optimization might be a good idea - these recommended specs are extremely high:

    • Recommended:
      • OS: Windows 10 (64-bit) or later
      • Processor: AMD Ryzen 9 7900 12-Core / Intel Core i7-9700K
      • Memory: 16 GB RAM
      • Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4080 SUPER / AMD Radeon RX 6800 XT
      • DirectX: Version 12
      • Storage: 15 GB available space
      • VR Support: OpenXR, Meta Quest 2, Meta Quest 3 and Valve Index

Not sure devs will make it this year, we'll see.

Note that Aces of Thunder arrived last week - and is an awesome game. For simmers, the game was a disappointment though, as the game clearly is more arcade-oriented than a sim. HOTAS is supported, but the game seems primarily made for just using your VR motion controllers.

     https://store.steampowered.com/app/2754090/Aces_of_Thunder/

    My review/impressions on Steam:

"Works perfectly with the Index and Rift CV1, awesome performance, a great arcade shooter.

Note this is no sim, this is much more a very realistic WW2 version of Ultrawings :-) I happen to love Ultrawings and care little for advanced sims.

Like Ultrawings, you do not need HOTAS but can control everything with your VR motion controllers.

There are many graphics settings, and you get different options for antialiasing, view distance, amount of grass and trees, lens flare, ambient occlusion modes and much more. You only get that with PCVR, not with PS5/PSVR2.

Using an RTX 3090, i9 10900K, 32GB, and Win10 Pro, I'm getting solid 80 fps with maxed graphics . Be careful not to estimate performance using the start location, as the real game performs much better.

The game will auto-detect if you are sitting or standing.

Graphics are impressive with thousands of trees, dynamic shadows, realtime lighting, and high texture res. The game is 20GB.

The game uses OpenXR, so Index and Meta Quest users get similar great performance. That said, I tested the game using Rift CV1 too, and ASW 2.0 did not seem to work.

You get 24 aircrafts and about 15 singleplayer missions. And you can play online. The game is very impressive also just for the flying - the max view distance is vast, and there can literally be thousands of trees shown at once with little or no performance impact.

You can interact with limited levers and buttons in the cockpit, and can access a special menu pressing down the left thumbstick. A tutorial would have been nice, but devs included none, then again the learning curve isn't that difficult.

8/10 for now, will update later."

I took a few screenshots, and I really do not think DCS looks better:

Only the PCVR version has advanced graphics with many settings:

Thus no doubt that the PCVR version is far ahead of the PSVR2/PS5 version.

Suddenly this year just got a lot better 😮  - didn't see this one coming, maybe I should have - but Bootstrap Island is finally fully baked and releases in full version March 12:

    https://store.steampowered.com/app/1942110/Bootstrap_Island/

I have added the game to the main post above. Could be my game of the year - if devs succeeded in making a great campaign. Time to really be Robinson Crusoe? :-)

Graphically it's one of the most impressive VR games, but the recommended gpu is an RTX 3080:

    Recommended:

      • Requires a 64-bit processor and operating system
      • OS: Windows 10
      • Processor: Intel i7-10700k / AMD Ryzen 5800x
      • Memory: 16 GB RAM
      • Graphics: Nvidia RTX 3080
      • Storage: 20 GB available space

EXD is getting a few months delay, but better fully baked than half cooked ;-)

Combat does look great and awesome-ish:

Find the game and wishlist here - actually this game is starting to look like a potential game of the year to me, but Bootstrap Island may offer some fierce competition...

A new adventure/puzzle PCVR/PC exclusive game arrives April 29 this year, namely Echoes of Mora:

Actually I prefer this older trailer, which better shows VR interactivity and physics:

Find the game - and a playable demo - here:

    https://store.steampowered.com/app/3129050/Echoes_of_Mora/

Some environments in the game do look stunning:

Btw, I also just stumbled upon this upcoming VR supported game - and I do love old school shooters 😄

    Find the game here:

Maid of Sker VR is out - and while devs made great cuts to the Quest version resulting in many bad reviews, and the PSVR2 version is very blurry (down-sampled) and has no support for dynamic foveated rendering - the PCVR version seems to have gotten all the love, and it shows:

This is a demanding game - I bet we're more or less just running the 2D PC version x 2 (one version per eye), requiring at least double the performance of the 2D PC version.

You can find the game here - 10% off:

    https://store.steampowered.com/app/4005370/Maid_of_Sker_VR/

My more detailed impressions are here:

    https://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561197970329732/recommended/4005370?snr=1_5_9__402

    - and a few screenshots, in the start of the game you get a short nature walk - to reach the castle entrance:

There're many trees, and 3D grass. The 2D version was initially made for Playstation 4, and limited polygon levels can be found here and there, but we're far away from the very low Quest levels. Maybe the PC version has been further enhanced, but polygon levels are fine in the PCVR version. Or at least better than in many other PCVR games.

The game is far from as scary as Madison VR, and might more be similar to Resident Evil 4. Maid of Sker VR does have a few jump scares, but even these aren't that scary - at least not to me, and I hardly dare to play Madison VR :-)

A few examples of the horror and graphics:

The image above does show some "jump scare".

Textures range from bland to ultramersion - here are some better examples:

Some nice high-res ground textures - the PCVR version is 15GB, while the Quest version is 3GB, and it does show

    Some nice wooden ground textures

This "ball" (no spoilers) has some awesome ultramersion textures

When I use the word ultramersion I'm talking about textures with such an extreme res that they simply look real.

Other effects in the PCVR version are dynamic shadows:

The fans cast dynamic shadows on the ground

You have ghost hands in the game, but here my hand does cast a dynamic shadow

Lighting, usually realtime lighting, can be great too:

See how the light from the top window illuminates the room?

Lighting can be close to blindingly strong - like here

In the game you're surrounded by disguised and seemingly undead (slightly zombie-like) opponents - if they hear you and catch you, you often will be dead. So there's much stealth and sneaking - but there are special ways to distract the monsters. And you can cover your mouth with both hands to suppress the sound of your breath.

So far the game is better than I hoped for - my rating would probably be 7.5/10 or maybe even 4/5. The game was not made ground-up for VR, but like The Midnight Walk, everything still is so much better in VR :-)

Some monster-dude standing on the bridge threw a purple gas bomb, but like in Alyx you can cover your mouth to avoid breathing in the gas

EXD arrived a few days ago, and may be a nice candidate for game of the year:

The game even supports native Oculus VR drivers, so no need for OpenXR and you get top performance with Meta hmds.

You can find my impressions here:

    https://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561197970329732/recommended/3962020?snr=1_5_9__402

    - and here are a few screenshots taken while playing:

This is you - employed at a warehouseIn the start of the game, you get to use some tools - note the very high-res textures, the game is 50GBSomething goes wrong - and suddenly you're in another dimension - but that's not all bad ;-)Just as I was about to ask her out, this happens, sigh - and your mission is to save the poor girl among other thingsEnvironments aren't Alyx quality, but close enoughSee my fingerprints - awesome ultramersion texturesThe art is great - check out this axeThe are big monsters wanting to eat you - luckily you got a ... small sword... So yes, you may have to think a bit to survive, this is no pure hack'n slashThe realtime lighting is awesome - and my RTX 3090 does get to sweatYou get some Alyx-like "gloves", but these are far from Alyx' gloves...Telekinesis is fun and impressive - I'm lifting this rock - thanks to my new gloves

I just added FlatOut 4 VR to the main post - it's an amazing racing game, one of the best in VR, and I'm writing that after having playing Gran Turismo 7 VR for many hours.

Another great game is Puzzling Places VR, which also has launched on Steam:

    https://store.steampowered.com/app/3530820

Being a Quest port, Puzzling Places does not need a fast PC, so even with an old GTX 970 or 1060 you should be fine. But if you have a fast PC, you can use extreme super-sampling and get mindblowingly sharp image quality. With an RTX 3090 I get 80 fps using 45 million pixels per frame combining both eyes/panels.

Kinda looks like a potential elephant just dropped - namely Tales of Glory 4: Ragnarok arriving this September:

    https://store.steampowered.com/app/4274260/Tales_Of_Glory_4__Ragnarok/

    PCVR only:

    Recommended:

      • OS: Windows 10
      • Processor: 8-16 Core 4GHz
      • Memory: 16 GB RAM
      • Graphics: NVIDIA RTX 2070
      • Storage: 15 GB available space
      • VR Support: OpenXR on SteamVR limited to 2 buttons controllers (see notes)
      • Additional Notes: Needs 2 buttons VR controllers (Valve Index / Oculus Touch controllers or similar) - Not compatible with Vive Wands or similar

There's a video here showing some gameplay:

    https://www.reddit.com/r/virtualreality/comments/1tsrhzz/tales_of_glory_4_ragnar%C3%B6k_coming_this_september/

Btw, just got close to a shock this morning, I must be getting ... old 😬😅
