Transfering Games to Other Meta Account Profile

Hello
I have bought Meta Quest 2 Oculus with three game from a person. The owner has his own account, with his own games.
As I have bought the Oculus from him, I need to have access to his games and I don´t want to use his account because, now, the Oculus Meta Quest 2 is mine.
How can a transfer his games to my account since from now on the Oculus is mine?

Thanks
Happy New Year 🙂
Jose

  • You may struggle I'm afraid. Games are locked to an account, not a headset. It's possible that support might be able to do this between accounts if you own both accounts but removing games from an account that isn't yours is going to be complex, involve the other party and may turn out to be impossible.

  • Hi zema53! We'd like to welcome you to the VR family, we hope you enjoy your new Quest 2! We see you have a question regarding app transfers, and we'd love to clear this up for you. Any purchased apps will be tied to the account rather than the device, so the only way for you to continue playing these games would be through app sharing. Apps cannot be transferred from one account to another, unfortunately. We hope this helps!

  • Hey, zema53 just to summarize, for anyone curious about multi-user and app sharing features... sharing apps between accounts is catered for, but as mentioned above those account holders must use the same headset. The first account holder is known as the admin account and they can then add up to 3 additional accounts on that headset.

App sharing was introduced so that multiple people within the same household no longer have to buy individual headsets and apps, they can all benefit from a single purchase.

I gave my brother my Quest 2 recently so he's now the admin account on that headset and the rest of his family can play whatever games he buys using their own accounts.

I've been encouraging him to get a headset for ages but I think this was the only way to get him on board 🙂, my other Quest 2 will shortly be going to a good home too.

      Hi there. DaftnDirect !
I'm just wondering how you were able to make your brother the admin on the headset if you were admin first, and your brother still has access to the games.
I just bought a headset of my own from a friend that no longer uses it, but she's still the admin, and I can't find a setting to change that.
My concern is that I'll have to do a factory reset, add my profile first, then the original user as the secondary profile - but the secondary profile doesn't seem to have a setting to allow app sharing...I can only find that on the admin profile, so I don't know how I'd still have access to the games on her account, because my account is new, and has no games.

Thanks in advance! I'd appreciate any insight you can provide!

hi Roramabelle I factory reset my headset before passing it on, which is something that should be done whenever you sell or give your headset away. Mr brother then set it up as he would have done with a new headset.
