Vrchat crashing saying I have no memory when I have plenty.

My vrchat has been crashing a lot recently saying I have no memory for the game when I have over 200GB free of storage. I've restarted the headset fully, cleared all cache in the game and nothing has worked, I really don't wanna have to factory reset it just yet incase there is another way I can fix it. Does anyone have any suggestions?

  • Is there Any fix to this? Because Vrchat Not load unless I pause the game including Horizon Center. I've tried updating. On the latest version I've tried resetting my headset. The only thing I haven't done is factory reset it which I don't wanna do because I'm actually using this from a friend and I don't wanna delete their information. So is there any other fix to this?

The solution is to play the PCVR version of VRChat on a PC instead of using the standalone Quest version.

  • My VR chat legitimately stopped working every time I try to turn it on it freezes me into place and crashes the game and then I get a notification saying I have not enough memory I don't know what to do I'm really worried I'll never be able to play my favorite game ever again has there been a solution yet

no I haven't 😞 i came here hoping there would be one, but its nice knowing im not the only one dealing with this

  • Hey there! Just checking in to see if this issue continues as this is not the experience we want you to have with us. I would highly recommend submitting a bug report for VR chat and seeing if other apps or games provide the same issue.

This is still a persistent problem on vr chat I play nearly every day and every time I load into a world I get the low memory pop up. If you know of any solution that has been figured out since this was first read by you please inform

I have 112 GB's of space and decently fast wifi I did a speed check on one of the websites in the quest 2 and my up was 600+ and down was 40+ could this be a wifi issue or could it be a meta issue that I can't fix personally

Gotcha. Do you happen to be in the newest version on the headset?

  • It's important to realise that memory and storage are two separate things. Something in a recent update is using more system memory than it should, leaving not enough for some memory-hungry apps. The amount of storage you have on your headset is irrelevant. It's one for Meta to fix when they are good and ready.

Can't seem to find a fix, It seems to be an oculus update error. From time to time I will get a notification that some app I'm not using is not responding, I have 210gb of storage left and a factory reset didn't work. I think it's an error in the latest update to the headset but I'm not sure.
