Why on earth can I not gift a subscription to gorilla tag to my 12-year-old?

My son who recently got a Meta quest almost exclusively for gorilla tag was very excited to find out about the new fan club subscription plan. Yet there is no way to purchase the subscription for him or gift it to him after speaking to several Meta employees. It makes no sense that I could monitor his account, purchased things for him, share them with him, even purchase, shiny rocks, but not approve a subscription on my own personal card for him. Similarly, it could be possible to purchase shiny rocks each month, which could be used to pay for the subscription, but that isn’t allowed either. I think this is a huge oversight and should be fixed.

    Exact same problem. Makes no sense…and so frustrating.

    Subscriptions through Meta headsets are age limited to at least 13+ and parents cannot purchase subscriptions for child-managed accounts (ages 10-12). There is a workaround for the Horizon+ subscriptions, which can be shared from the parent's account through App Sharing, but I doubt that would work for Gorilla Tag because DLC and in-game content cannot be shared through App Sharing. So the basic solution is to wait until your child's next birthday after they set up their 13+ account.

      Thanks. Yes, I understand. That is likely what we will have to do. The issue is that my son wants the perks that come with being an original subscriber and he won’t get them that way.

      I honestly left this post at the request of some of the Meta workers in hopes that the subscription policy might be reconsidered. It would be pretty simple to add the subscription connected to a parent card, and even for it to need to be renewed each month with approval to help avoid any problems.

        Well, just to reinforce this post, I'm in the same exact situation. My kid wants to end his Roblox subscription to get a Gorilla Tag one but sounds like a no go.
