No, currently there is a not a way to load anything from an external source at runtime. You can import models and textures into your world, and then use asset spawning, to load them at runtime.

are there resource limits to be aware of for asset spawning
for example if we have 100000 different assets, would that basically be too much for asset spawning?

As with all things, working to optimize and work within resource limits is important.

If you want to spawn a large number of assets all at once, world streaming may be closer to what you are looking for.
