I'm going to post this here instead of the original thread, to keep everything on topic.
I was following up on something I had stated previously, about Quest 2 vs PCVR vs the current Market:Zenbane said:I'm not going to spend a few $1000 just for one new game (Alyx) lol
The more I thought about it, the more I realized:
The Quest 2 has proven to be valuable for the market in which it resides.
It isn't about Facebook abandoning the Rift, or Oculus walking away from PCVR. It's about VR, as a whole, failing to grow as a platform.

Today I saw a new post on the FB VR Group where a user expressed this same sentiment. I would say that... now with the influx of new VR Users Quest 2 brings in, we're likely going to see more and more people take notice of the complete lack of AAA titles available.
Some of the responses he got,Had you called me, I would have warned youEverything is a disappointment compared to Alyx. Maybe 1 or 2 titles can compare..Half life alyx set bar so high. Unfortunately most other games fail. Lone Echo is next best thing to Half Life Alyx then Skyrim really cool with around 90+ mods but no where near as immersive. Unfortunately we have to wait for triple A games in production.
Overall, I think it's fair to say that Quest 2 is the right move since there are only a few titles that make high-end PCVR worth the cost.
Quest 2 has got more PC players attention than i thought it would. I check finnish PC gaming/overclockers forum regulary and Quest 2 opened flood gates. Just in 2 weeks VR thread went from post per week to two pages more per day and those guys dont care about lofi Quest 2 exclusives. Lots of simracers too, who are trying their best to tweak everything out of Link.
It will indeed be interesting to see if Quest 2 will stimulate more PCVR interest. Not sure I get the "I miss Alyx and Asgard quality" - such users can just get a rig and use Quest 2 for PCVR. Seems many/most users get great Alyx experiences out of Quest 2 - and why not, Alyx was made for lcd like the Querst 2. Soon 3060 and 3070 will arrive, and never before will it be so easy and inexpensive to experience Alyx and have truly awesome PCVR performance.
Counting in the Oculus exclusives, I think there's so much AAA-ish content for VR I don't even have enough time to complete more than the top of the iceberg - all these titles have user ratings of 90% or better in the Oculus Store:

Many games and apps may not be directly AAA, but AAA does not imply that a game is fun to play. There are tons of totally awesome VR experiences available - but I get the feeling that most pancake lovers have no idea of the massive amount of available great VR content.
