usb type c pci card ?

looking at this one as i will eventually get the official link cable when it goes on sale 

I was considering getting a PCI USB C add-on, but so far Link is working fine with my type A USB 3 ports. I bought some A to C adapters for when the official C-C Link cable comes out--if the adapters don't work, then I might go ahead with the PCI card.

i have 4 + usb 3.0 ports on my pc and none work with link so i bought the pci 5 port usb 3.0 and still problems with crashing and freezing ! everything else works in these ports so i dont need another 5,will go for the usb c pci card as i noticed in pics the official link cable looks like usb c on both ends 

Link is very finnicky on USB 3 ports.
Finally got mine working on my front panel USB 3 header, but not on any of the others though. Not even through a powered USB 3 Hub.

haha your telling me ! jesus ive got 2 desktops with 4-6 usb 3.0 ports and none of them work,ive also got a new predator laptop bought this year and the 2 usb 3.0 ports wont work with link either,my desktop pc upstairs has the pci 5 port usb 3.0 card inside which ive managed to get going with still occasional crash and freeze hence the reason i bought the same card for my pc downstairs but its not happening for that one ! got the usb type c card coming tomorrow so will give that a whirl and post back my results fingers crossed,im going to get the proper cable when its released so probably better off with the usb c pci card 

Have you guys disabled the USB Power Management in Windows 10? I know that made a huge difference with the CV1 and the external sensors always disconnecting.

hi m8 yes i remember i had to do with the cv1,will disable it and try it out & thanks for the tip 

ahh well worth a try but link not even loading up anymore,says im all connected but just reverts back to quest home screen,gonna try the type c pci card tomorrow & if no joy im throwing in the towel until the proper link cable is out

What Predator laptop do you have? I have a Triton 500 RTX 2080 Max Q, and Link has been working flawlessly on any of the 3 x USB 3.1 Gen 1. I have not yet tried the USB 3.1 Gen 2 USB C port.

It’s not a beast like yours haha it’s the Helios i5 coffee lake with 1050ti,it’s got 2 usb 3 ports and also usb c port 3.1 & I get no joy on any of them,wasted a lot of time on this I’ve had it working a bit on my pc upstairs was flawless for a couple of hours but it’s started freezing etc,will try the new card tomorrow see how it goes if it’s a no go then I’m throwing the towel in till the proper cable is released 

who knows it might be the cable but it’s the same one other folks seem to be getting joy with
