Will upgrading give something for the money in VR?

HI, i wanted to ask something before i use alot of money on a RTX-3080 card. I have a regular RTX-2070 now and if we say i will continue using ASW with the 3080. Will i get a better picture in the Qu...

    Ya, should be a nice upgrade.  A 3080ti or 3090 would even be better of course, lol!  Might depend on your cpu?  Mine is a i9 9900k oc 5Ghz water cooled.  Also, 32gb 3000 ram.

     

    I upgraded from a 1080ti to a 3090 and this has made a big difference with my Q2.  My current sweet spot is 80Hz and the res slider full right.  I can easily use 90Hz but to be honest, I cannot tell the difference so I just have stuck with 80Hz.  I mainly use Air Link because I love the freedom of wireless.  Link also work great and with higher bitrates distant object are a bit clearer, but not a lot in it.  My Q2 visuals are much better than my old Rift cv1 at 2.5x super sampling, esp. with v33 Link Sharpening.  Also, no SDE and no need to use asw.

    There is not a lot of performance difference between the 3080 and my 3090 (~10-15%) so you should see similar improvements imho.

    Thanks alot for your indepth experience  I was worried that ASW would degrade pic in a way when in use. Reason for ASW being important is that there may be several games i cant get a stable fps above whats needed, even with the 3080. 3080ti and above is out of my reach financially. the 2070 i need to reduce alot to get a smooth fps in some racing games. So picture is not good enough using it. I have a 10400f only, but its good enough in most cases. Thanks again for the info
