[980 SLI] Any LGA 1150 dual x16 PCI Express motherboards?

So all the LGA1150 motherboards I can find only have 8x support for PCI Express 3.0 with two GPU's.

Doesn't the standard support two x16 PCIE 3.0?

So basically to get the max out of a SLI setup with the 980 you'll have to go to LGA2011?

Or am I missing some motherboard out there that does support this on LGA 1150?

Try looking for asus WS motherboards or similar. I did a google search and instantly found 2 models that are LGA 1150 and can do 2 cards at 16x. However both were out of stock at least on newegg.com. There are also LGA2011 motherboards that can do 16x with 4 GPU:s.
  • The difference between a GPU running on 16x vs. 8x is surprisingly nonexistent. The loss in performance, if any, is immeasurable. Save some money and use 8x.
