Any good pulleys out there?

I am working on a pulley system for my rift to keep the cable out of the way. My original idea was to have the cable going straight up from my PC to one hook then to a pulley about 1.5 meters away with some slack and a weight in the middle it so when I move around or bend down the cable extends, and retracts back when I move back. However, I'm having a problem. I went to a local hardware store and picked up a pulley which was obviously for a more heavy duty job, and as a result the wheel doesn't spin very easily, and thus does not retract back unless I put a somewhat large weight. The problem with this larger weight is that I can actually feel the cable pulling up on the back of my head. So, my question was: has anyone else done something similar to this, and if so, can anyone recommend a pulley with less resistance so I can use less weight?
