Anyone here watched the walking dead tv series?

Do people realise that a car will not start with a flat battery?
Yet they mysteriously keep charge even when the car has not been turned on for months..
Darn I need one of those.

    Oh it is totally real...
I just watched series 3 of the walking dead and I can now see how there is a gravel driveway up to the prison.
    Totally bro...

Have you never push started a car before?  Tough to do with an auto, but a manual is pretty easy, I've done it a few times on my own pushing with one foot out the door.

And a good battery should still be able to start a car after a few months.  Especially in older cars that don't have a lot of parasitic drain on the battery.   After a couple years it would be unlikely, but in a few cases when they were specifically looking for cars they brought a charged battery with them.
  • A bigger issue is likely to be that the gas will decay over time, and probably won't be able to run the engine after a year or two. At least not very well.

But, yeah, we watched the first season and gave up. It's free on Netflix, but I've yet to feel an urge to continue from there. We did read the comic for a while, but gave up around the time they left the prison.
