They said in a recent update that they will produce it anyway, and depending on your backer tier, you will be able to purchase one either at your tier price, or at a higher reduced price.
Although they said the $299 tier was full, somebody vacated a spot and I grabbed it. Now a $299 backer, and when available I will be able to purchase one at that price.
Although not clearly stated, what they said sounds like they may have secured outside funding based on the kickstarter response. Even if the campaign fails, it succeeded at getting them advertising and media attention, and perhaps even additional funding.
