Are there any generic lightgun environment tools out there?

i know in emuvr you can play lightgun games, but it also comes with all the other fluff with being a virtual room, and also its only compatible with retroarch. so no house of the dead 1 or jurassic park 2

wondering if anyone ever made a thing that lets you just like...boot a game from the desktop and lets you shoot at the screen. like a VR sinden lightgun. idk how that would work exactly, but if one doesn't exist i'd be tempted to take a crack at making it in my spare time
