Best 3d experience of my youth...
I recently have been thinking about the View-Master I had when I was a kid, There was one set of reels that stood out a lot more from any of the others for its 3d impact, a lot more even than any of the 3d photos- and that was Inspector Gadget 3d View-Master :)
If you're able to try it I think its worth it. The way layers and flat color was used to create shape and depth using just cartoon cell shaded art was impressive and something I am exploring in my own work. There were other interesting techniques used too for example to create the shimmer of a golden magical city glowing they used a bright yellow in one eye and a white in the other. Ive tried to find images of it online but no luck but could find images of the packaging. :?:
