Best budget value PC for Oculus Rift.

Hello,

As the title states, I'm building the best budget friendly PC to have a good experience with the up-coming Oculus Rift (I already Pre-Ordered it). As I've heard the up-coming version will be able to output 90-120 FPS. So I want to take advantage from those FPS and have a PC capable to output them as well.

I've chosen these parts so far, but I'd appreciate any comment, suggestion, etc..

  • You could get a cheaper case and save about $50 to $60 bucks!
  • First build has no SSD. You said budget, but it's almost always better to spend a bit more and get the best value rather than the absolute cheapest. An SSD will drastically improve loading times.
Second build has no HDD. While I'd go that way for a VR only PC, you need an HDD if you're also going to use it as an everyday PC.
  • I just threw this together. Might start a thread for "cheapest possible oculus pc"

    $717.47

May not win any awards and I certainly would not buy that combo but it would be interesting to see if it would work!
  • Decent looking build (for the price). I still wonder about the CPU, we'll have to see with real world performance.
